What will more government health care bring?

The Theologian (and one of the respectable University of Texas professors) Robert L. Dabney once made the statement that “The more public schools you build, the more prisons you will have to build”. Although his statement was quite shocking at the time he made it, history has proven the truth of his assertion. Given that government schools have created more criminals, it raises the specter of what more government health care will bring us.

At this juncture, it is safe to say, that it will give us MORE taxes, Sicker people, more lawsuits (related to the shabby care and sick people running around), and more nanny government issues (they want a say in family planning, finances, diet, end of life issues, and control of DNA/genetic material). Rather than dismiss the advice from our fore fathers, we need to heed it. Besides repentance, we need a return to the ‘worn arguments’ of our fathers and the wisdom of their ways.

Redistribution uber alles

The current regime values redistribution of wealth above all other agendas. In the latest, the CONgress Critter Charles Rangel is proposing further taxes on small businesses along with increases in payroll taxes of working men and women. The reason? To pay for public healthcare. With the taxes already in place, the coming expiration of the Bush tax cuts and the proposed healthcare taxes, some people will have tax rates of 60%. The head of the Obama regime claimed that the middle class would not have their taxes raised, but I guess he meant that he personally would not raise taxes. He can’t help it if Charles Rangel and others raise taxes and he approves them.

What does this mean for Southrons? It means slow economic growth. It means increased unemployment, it means government healthcare for all, it means you will pay more for the energy you use. Under the present system, it is illegal for CONgress to cut any taxes. The leadership seems hell bent on making the people pay for their frivolity. The policies seek to’reconstruct’ America according to the ‘wisdom’ of central planners who think they know more about society, economies and culture than the people. Central planning was a key effort of the Soviets in transforming Russia. Both ideas, ‘central planning’ and ‘redistribution of wealth’ are straight out of communist writings. The use of central planning to control the economy was used not only in Soviet Russia, but also Afghanistan under the Taliban and Iraq under Saddam Hussein (the other Hussein regime). Such central planning of the economy is also used in such havens of freedom (sarcasm) as Cuba, Saudi Arabia, Burma, Iran and North Korea.

We do not need central planning of the economy, healthcare, or any other area. We need to be left alone. We need to be allowed to spend our money how we wish. We need to be able to hire and fire who we wish.

Wreckless Spending

Reckless Spending

Jonathan Ingram

The Federal Government recklessly spends money. I’m sure I am not the only one to have noticed. This is not news. It has been so for decades. However, the rate of government spending has increased dramatically in the last ten years. This year alone, the U.S. Government is on pace to spend about $6 trillion, with almost $2 trillion of that expected to be deficit spending. Such spending is unsustainable and will ruin the American economy.

To understand the enormity of the problem is to understand the scale of the numbers. Trillion is not a figure that is easily grasped. Breaking these numbers down should help.

The population of the U.S. is roughly 300 million. Of those, about 200 million Americans are working age. With $6 trillion in spending and a population of 300 million, the government is spending around $20,000 per person. That is $20,000 per man, woman, and child in the country. The numbers get worse when examining the spending per working aged adult, $30,000 per worker. With two workers per household, the average tax burden per household for Federal spending alone is $60,000. But the median household income in the U.S. is only $50,000! How is this possible?

Median is not the same as mean. The “average” income in the U.S. is higher than the median income because some people earn much more than others. In order to pay the bills, or rather to pay $4 trillion of this year’s $6 trillion, Americans who earn higher incomes are taxed much more heavily than those who earn less. I don’t intend to write about the merits of progressive, regressive, or flat taxation. Taxing those that make more money at a higher rate may not be a problem. However, many Americans pay no Federal Income Tax at all (most do pay Social Security and Medicare taxes). Many actually get money from the Federal Government. They are on the dole. Now, I’m not cheering for more taxes. I wish that all American’s who paid taxes paid less, and I don’t want those who don’t pay taxes to have to pay more either. However, having those who pay no taxes vote for the leaders who determine our economic policies is foolish.

Now don’t think that I am attacking the poor. Some poor people are competent and principled voters. Even those who vote for candidates that promise them more - more money, more services, more of everything – are only acting rationally. No, I blame the system and those who manipulate it. I blame the politicians and their pimps who pander to the poor.

Getting elected takes money and politicians know how to get it. They cozy up with big businesses, lobbyists, and well heeled special interest groups in order to get the money to win a campaign. They then tailor their campaigns to appeal to the large portion of the citizenry that is on the take. This is true whether it is President Bush promising to leave no child behind, sending out tax rebate checks, and bailing out the banks, or if it is President Obama promising socialized medicine and a college education for all while bailing out the car companies and the banks. They pander to slightly different groups, but by and large, Republicans and Democrats are alike. It is the system that is broken.

Politicians are bought and paid for by special interests. Pandering determines the outcome of political elections. Out of control government spending is the inevitable result. Voting is not a viable way to change policy because of the flaws in the system – getting elected takes lots of money, which makes politicians beholden to special interest groups, and lots of promises for votes, which ensure more spending. So what is a concerned Southerner to do? Make your voice heard through an alternate institution, the Southern National Congress. [See SNC Manifesto]

The Southern National Congress is a forum to give voice to Southerners who realize that they are not well represented by Washington politicians. The forum is composed of delegations from each of fourteen Southern States. The delegates are not elected by popular vote. Rather they are volunteers who meet a limited number of requirements. Why should you or any other American take seriously a body composed of members who are not elected democratically? Precisely because they are not elected in such a process. As shown above, the democratic process in its current form in these United States has led to the control of government by well backed special interests that demagogue to the masses. The Southern National Congress on the other hand is a place for those who believe free men should act in their national interest.

The Southern National Congress recognizes the danger posed by the current system. In the initial meeting of the Congress, December 5 – 7 in Hendersonville North Carolina, the Congress remonstrated against run away spending and the system that has produced it. The present crisis threatens a catastrophe more encompassing and ruinous than the Great Depression, yet the only “cure” we are offered is more of the disease itself: massive inflation, huge bailouts, and astronomical government spending. These will only prolong and deepen the crisis and destroy the dollar, and with it, the South’s remaining wealth. [Remonstrance on Economic and Monetary Policy]

As our current economic and political crises deepen, more and more Americans will recognize that the system is broken. Let us give them a voice to express their concerns and the leadership to show others that there is a peaceful way toward freedom and liberty. If you’re interested in helping, contact the registrar from your state today and become a delegate for the Second Southern National Congress and contact the Southern National Congress Treasurer to make a donation to support our cause.

The Real Domestic Terrorists

THE REAL DOMESTIC TERRORISTS

Dr. Michael Hill

14 April 2009

As another income tax deadline has come, it might be of some interest to see how grateful our elite masters are for our continued tribute to and support of their benevolent regime.

In March, a document from the Missouri MIAC Fusion Center warned law enforcement personnel that anyone who supported a political candidate outside the “mainstream” (e.g. Ron Paul, Bob Barr, or Chuck Baldwin) and who expressed concern about the UN, the North American Union, the unconstitutional actions of government, or a host of other “right wing” concerns just might be a domestic terrorist. In early April, the Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Intelligence and Analysis published a report entitled “Right-wing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment.” This report singled out, among others, those who support States rights and Constitutional government as right-wing extremists and potential domestic terrorists.

We traditional Southerners are indeed familiar with this game. Had the term been around then, our ancestors—from Washington and Jefferson to Lee and Davis—would have been called domestic terrorists by the Brits and Yankees, respectively. As it was, they were simply called “traitors.” We reject the use of both terms for ourselves and for our forebears. Instead, we can make a good case that the real threats to domestic peace and quiet are on the other side. And we continue to pay them tribute every year at about this time (actually, we pay them year round, but you get the point).

WHO ARE THEY?

The real domestic terrorists were (and are) those who oppose our federated, constitutional republic and the worldview which upholds it. Indeed, Abe Lincoln and his minions have sired a long line of domestic terrorists, including most recently George W. Bush and Barack Hussein Obama (and all who aid them in their misrule). We might throw the larger part of Congress into the mix as well.

Most of what the U.S. government does is beyond the bounds of the Constitution. That makes it unlawful. That which is unlawful ultimately terrorizes society. Jefferson told us that the fundamental law of the land should be viewed as chains to bind a singularly dangerous beast (the general government). For a while the beast was successfully bound; however, he slipped his chains for good in 1865 and our republic of republics was lost. Today, we live under a strange combination of socialism and fascism that would surely please a Hitler, Stalin, Lenin, or Mao as much as it would disgust our Founders.

How we came to this point is fairly clear—there was a slow and steady revolution, and most Americans were asleep while it patiently worked its way through virtually every institution in the land. Some of our fellow subjects still don’t realize what has transpired. But they soon will.

Things were bad under Bush II. But because he and the GOP masqueraded as “conservatives,” most Americans thought all was well. But as a famous Alabamian once said, there’s not a dime’s worth of difference between the two major political parties. And he was right. Bush I or Clinton; Bush II or Obama—the rhetoric may differ but the results are still the same: bigger, more intrusive, and lawless central government and less liberty and prosperity for the rest of us. Now, what little we have left in terms of liberty and property is being taken from us in broad daylight without any meaningful resistance on our part.

AN ORGANIZED CRIMINAL ENTERPRISE

That the U.S. government is an organized criminal enterprise cannot be doubted by anyone who has kept abreast of the on-going, broad-open-daylight effort to loot the country’s wealth. The multiple trillion dollars’ worth of bailouts and related schemes have enriched even further the Money Men who pull the strings that animate the politicians, and the fleecing shows no sign of abatement. In case you’re wondering why this is being allowed to happen, remember this—your Congressmen and Senators don’t work for you; rather, they work for those who fill their campaign coffers and make election and re-election possible. They work for the Money Men, and the Money Men own “your” government lock, stock, and barrel. And they are about to own everything else . . . unless they are stopped.

Don’t expect an appeal to the Constitution or to common decency to stop the criminal class from further terrorizing the country. Of the latter, they have none. And to them, the former is but a mere scrap of parchment. In fact, wasn’t it was George W. Bush who called it just a “G-d damned piece of paper?” Well, in a way he was right (but for the wrong reason, of course). The great Southern political philosopher John C. Calhoun also noted that the Constitution was but an inanimate object, incapable of enforcing itself. Rather, he said, it is up to the people, in their capacity as citizens of the several sovereign States, to make sure it is enforced. He also told us: “Only power can check power.”

So, in reality, we are in the mess we’re in because we have not done our job of keeping the singularly dangerous beast chained down. It has broken free and become our master and we its servants. In the process it has become exceedingly powerful as well. It holds us in the balance of life and death, or so it seems.

MOUNTING THE RESISTANCE

Any form of tyranny deserves a hard resistance. The current crop of domestic terrorists will not stop looting our wealth and our inheritance of liberty until we make them stop. It’s as simple as that. We Southerners ought to be the first to resist; such audacity is in our blood.

But what can we do in the face of such irresistible power? First, we can psychologically withdraw our consent from the criminal class that rules over us. Our system is supposedly based on the “consent of the governed.” If you believe it still is, then withdraw your consent. Not even the hardest tyranny can exist without the support of the “drawers of water and hewers of wood” (to use an old Irish adage). Once we withdraw our consent psychologically, then we can begin to withdraw it physically. Simply put, don’t work for them in any capacity and don’t give them anything you can keep out of their thieving hands. Don’t patronize their institutions. Don’t vote for anyone who runs in their pack. Remember, they are robbing you (and your posterity) blind under color of law without fear of reprisal. Make them earn what they steal from you.

I have been asked by some: “How do we resist this criminal element when we have no way of getting at them?” That’s a logical question. After all, who is going to march into the bowels of DC or Wall Street and arrest the President, the Fed Chairman, the Treasury Secretary, the CEO of Goldman Sachs, or even your garden-variety Congressman or Senator? They live and work like royalty in veritable fortresses constructed and guarded with the money they’ve looted from you, the peasants. They’re also protected by “the law” (which they get to interpret), and if you break it they’ll lock you away or shoot you.

So how do you stop this criminal element? While you may not be able to exert any direct influence on the big fish, you certainly can make life very uncomfortable for the smaller fish—the enforcers who do their dirty work on the State and local levels. History is full of examples of how occupied peoples socially ostracized their occupiers. If your community has enforcers of the present tyranny, make sure everyone knows who they are and what they’re up to. Isolate them and give no voluntary cooperation.

Our rights to life, liberty, and property come from God and not from any government. Behave as if you believe this. If they tell you it is illegal to grow your own food to feed yourself and your neighbors, then grow your own food in spite of them. This restriction is not as far-fetched as you might think. If they tell you to turn in your firearms, hide them away. If they show up at your door to collect them, resist. The law of self-protection is fundamental and Biblical. If they tell you it is forbidden to worship the true and living God, then do it openly in the public square. If they come to take your children, then behave like a cornered animal. Under no circumstances should you voluntarily give up your God-given rights to tyrants. They are used to a soft and acquiescing populace. Surprise them. Make them pay a high price for what they steal.

RESISTANCE FROM THE STATES

If you want to defend your community from the domestic terrorists, first use the proper constitutional vehicle—your State. This is where ultimate temporal sovereignty resides in our system. Of course, most (if not all) of our State governments are in the hands of men who seek the favor of the criminal class, are a part of it (or at lease aspire to be), or are scared to challenge it. But it is a much easier task to take control of your State government than it is to affect policy in Washington, DC. If your State has already passed a Sovereignty Resolution or is considering one, you have some hope. Talk with your elected State and local officials about strengthening your State Militia or State Guard (and I’m not speaking here of the National Guard—that organization is subject to federalization). And if you’re so inclined, join up.

We can also use our counties as bulwarks against the criminal class. The County Sheriff is the principal peace officer in his jurisdiction. As such, he can lawfully tell the Feds to “Go to Hell” and stay out of his territory. He also can deputize as many of the county’s citizens as he wishes and have them armed to the teeth. No one can over-rule him within his boundaries. Make sure your current Sheriff knows his authority and to whom he answers (you and your neighbors). If he is unwilling to use his authority for the good of the people of his jurisdiction, replace him at the first opportunity.

I discourage the formation of private militias except as a last resort. If your State and local officials refuse to serve the citizens and to protect them by the historic means of Nullification, Interposition, or Secession, then you may have reached the “last resort.” In that case, you have no other alternative except to bow to the will of your masters. Every free man and woman should exercise their rights as expressed in the Second Amendment. Moreover, they should be prepared to defend themselves and their families from actions that jeopardize life, liberty, and property. When political alternatives are no longer available, this is how it boils down. Let’s hope we never reach this point.

ALL WE WISH IS TO BE LEFT ALONE

We common Southerners (and most other Americans) prefer to be free to work, worship, and raise our children under the arrangement bequeathed us by our Founders. We do not wish to take that which is not ours or to deprive others of what is rightfully theirs. Nor do we wish to tell others how they ought to live. We are not driven by utopian ideologies or perverse fantasies. We do not wish to conquer the world and ride it, booted and spurred, to satisfy a lust for power and position. As Jefferson Davis said, all we wish is to be left alone. But we are not being left alone; on the contrary, we are being robbed blind by the biggest, most blatant and shameless heist in the history of the world. And not only is our wealth being taken, but our liberties as well. We are also being overrun by an alien population as a result of unlimited and illegal immigration from Latin America.

So, you tell me who are the domestic terrorists? Those who wish to live in peace according to the original American arrangement or those who seek its overthrow for their own greed and ambition?

That the criminal class that now runs America has tried to make us out to be the domestic terrorists ought to tell you something. They are projecting onto us the very characteristics they themselves possess. This dishonest process is called The Law of Preemptory Accusation—they hit you before you can hit them. If they’re thieves, they accuse you of theft; if they’re liars, they accuse you of lying. If they’re haters, they accuse you of hatred. You get the picture.

It is not too late for the domestic terrorists that control this regime (both Democrats and Republicans, Washington and Wall Street) to back off and behave as they should. In truth, I believe they should apologize for all their crimes, return all they have stolen (with penalties and interest attached), pledge henceforth to obey the true and fundamental law of the land, and lock themselves up for a long stint in prison. In short, I believe they ought to be our servants and us their masters. I also believe in Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, and the Tooth Fairy.

The South: New enemy of Detroit

The Detroit News has entered the political arena. Their automotive columnist, John McCormick has written a column suggesting that the tables be turned on the South. He attacks those Southerners who had the audacity to stand against the empire’s bailout of the automotive industry. He sees the South as the new enemy of Detroit. Could it be that the highly unionized economy now has a straw man to attack? Rather than pin the problems on poor management, poor administration of the auto companies, or excessive expenses related to healthcare plans and union wages, it is easier to attack those who stand up and speak out. Never mind that the money being spent belongs to the taxpayer. Never mind that the Constitution does not authorize Congress to take such actions.

McCormick does make a valid argument in pointing out that the Congress grilled the auto makers, yet gave the financial institutions a free pass when they were wanting a bailout. The mixed message is a confusing one. To many Northern industrialists, the industrial north sees the auto industry as vital.  Rather than let market forces take over, the plan is to put more money into an area that has already been problematic. This is akin to feeding a trouble making dog more than usual. It will not make the dog better, it will only make it bigger.

McCormick points out that Michigan gladly helped out with Katrina and other disasters. They may have helped some communities which I do not know about. Many Southerners had to pull themselves up by their bootstraps and excercise self-reliance in recovering from disasters. There is also a major difference between a man-made disaster, and one that was an act of God. Acts of God do need assistance from others. Disasters brought on from high salaries, high benefits, and questionable management require different solutions.

Now that the financial institutions and auto industry get bailouts, the question arises, who is next? Some states (California and Massachusetts) [Note: recall that Massachusetts was the State that recently required that all its citizens have insurance.] and cities are already crying for assistance along with the abortion industry. Perhaps there are too many services and too high taxes in these locations.  The abortion industry bailout is significant concern. Should the empire spend billions  of dollars to kill? Should the taxpayers bailout a morally wicked industry?

Taxes in California for instance are phenomenally high. The real culprits are unfunded mandates, poor management (the management at GM is notorious for creating an atmosphere that lacks competitiveness), poor policy (e.g. Governor Schwarnegger’s recent “Bank on California scheme) ,excessive government regulation and taxes that are out of control. The answer is not more money, it is less government.

The people are already being screwed by Obama

Barry Sortero (aka Barak Hussein Obama) is already screwing the American people. The promised level where people would not have increases in taxes has already been changed from $250,000. down to $200,000. Have a look-see and decide for yourself.

FAIR branded a hate group by SPLC

The SPLC is up to their same old tricks. The Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) has been labeled a “hate group” by the SPLC (Southern Poverty Law Center). The action confirmed a statement I made to the Texas Observer that anyone who speaks out against illegal immigration is branded as “hate group” according to the SPLC. Check out FAIR’s website and decide for yourself. On the site is their response to the SPLC. Although the original trouble between FAIR and the SPLC began almost a year ago, it is now in the news again as FAIR continues its lobbying efforts. With the negative characterizations, those CONgress critters who listen to them are conveniently labeled as associating with ‘hate groups’ just in time for the elections.

Such behavior is likely to become more common, as the liberal/socialist media associated with Obama is gearing up their “In Your Face” campaign. This is couples with Senator Joe Biden coupling ‘patriotism’ with paying taxes.Has he forgotten his history? The American colonies were founded on people refusing to pay the exorbitant British taxes. By confusing facts with socialist myth, the people are confused and exploited.
