Calculator Abuse?

The latest example of buffoonery consists of the chief economist and senior economic advisor to the vice president, Jared Bernstein calling the computation figuring out how much each ’stimulus job’ costs as calculator abuse. The empire does not want the people to calculate that $160 BILLION divided by the ‘reported’ 1 million jobs saved comes to $160,000/job.  It is much too dangerous to have people calculating those numbers. Even the man on the street knows that $160,000 dollars spent to save 1 job is not a good investment. Bear in mind that some reports say the actual number of jobs preserved (note the weasel word play between saved and created jobs) has the figure at 640,000. When that number is used,  the cost per job jumps to $250,000 per job (gee, the President himself makes $400,000/year).  When math is applied to the numbers, (which the empire does not want you to do. It is CALCULATOR Abuse, and you know how they feel about abuse don’t you?) the jobs that have been created seem to be cushy government ones with extremely high pay.

But, with government schools, the kids aren’t trained to do the calculations to figure such things out. To make matters worse, if you are doing your calculating on a Texas Instruments calculator and you happen to use the keys in a way they don’t want you to, you may receive a threatening letter from their lawyers. It seems that TI does not want people knowing how to ‘modify’ their calculators to do some serious math. If there are any Tim “the tool man” Taylor types that like to modify their property—-Look Out!

The pot calling the kettle black

The usurper has spoken out concerning the bonuses on Wall Street. He correctly labeled the actions of giving bonuses as “irresponsible” and “shameful”. What becomes comical about his critique is the irony in it. In order to take the high ground on moral issues, one must adhere to high moral standards. Here he is condemning Wall Street bonuses, when Congress just gave themselves a pay raise as well. The hypocrisy really shines in consideration of how ACORN, which worked feverishly to elect the usurper, is due to receive between 3.3 and 5.1 billion dollars in the bailout. What is the difference between bonuses to bank executives and ACORN executives? Both cases are irresponsible giving of money as paybacks.

The hits just keep on coming with the stimulus package having millions set aside for birth control. It was only at the last minute the birth control funding measure was removed. The audacity of calling Wall Street irresponsible, when the government wants millions spent to pay for irresponsible behaviors?

The usurper also wants the tax cuts that had been given to expire, which defacto raises the taxes on the citzenry, while the empire wants the largest spending bill it has ever had in history. Just who is being irresponsible? Just who is shameful. In order to have shame, a person must have a conscience. They must have a moral foundation. With the usurper questioning what parts of the Bible to believe, what moral foundation or moral absolutes does his have to judge the actions of others by? Could this just be some posturing going on?

In Texas, there is the story of the Texas Ranger who said that “Nothing can stop a man in the right who keeps on coming”. In the case of the bailout and Wall Street, ‘who is in the right?’ Perhaps since I did not have a Harvard education, I can’t understand the subtle details of such matters.

Each day just keeps getting deeper and deeper into the quagmire.

What is stimulated?

In the movie, Field of Dreams, the phrase, “If you build it, they will come” became popular. The phrase is catchy, it also contains a truism. That truism is that when you reward people, they will come around. In the latest conspiracy between the regime and CONgress, legislation has been forwarded that provides tax rebates to the subjects of the domain. There are many fishy things about the act, including how quickly it went through CONgress. The speed of its passage raises concerns about the seriousness of the financial situation in the empire. The democratic CONgress does not easily give the people’s money back to them. When they not only give it back, but do it with haste, you have to wonder if they know something that they are keeping from the public.

Besides the haste of their action, there are other concerns about their action. It seems that the legislation also provides refunds to illegal immigrants. The group known as ‘resident aliens’ are eligible for the refund. What is a ‘resident alien’? It is an illegal alien that has paid taxes and has not been deported back to the nation they came from. Rewarding them for their actions will only send the message that what they are doing is acceptable. Such action will only serve to increase illegal activity. People look at the cost and benefit. If the benefit outweighs the risk, then they will do what is being rewarded. Tom Tancredo has called it righ, when he labeled the stimulus package as a giveaway for illegal aliens.

“This package will stimulate one thing for certain: more illegal immigration,” said Tancredo. “It’s just the latest unfortunate example of American workers footing the bill for illegal aliens.”

Another old saying that has bearing in this situation is “Beware of Greeks bearing gifts”. The city of Troy saw this one too late. CONgress does not just give things without expecting something in return or having strings attached to it. Even in their gesture, there were many caveats to make sure that the rebates did not occur across the board, but rather only certain people in certain tax brackets will be receiving the tax breaks. The hope is that the subjects (I was going to say citizens, but I realize that the program extends beyond citizens to include non-citizens as well) will spend money and stimulate the economy. It may speed up the economy some, although the best thing the people could do is purchase precious metals and sit on them. If they used the rebate to purchase $600 dollars worth of pennies or nickels, they could melt them down and sell them for more than the $600 rebate they originally received. By printing more of the Yankee greenbacks, the value of them will decrease even more.

The action of CONgress tells me that they know that taxes are too high. They know that high taxes slow the economy down. A real solution would be eliminating some of the taxes. They could start by removing the ones that were implemented in violation of the Constitution. Rebates are not a real solution, it is only a band-aid.

It is labeled a stimulus package. The key question is what does it stimulate? The conspiracy of CONgress and the regime say it will stimulate the economy. The reality will likely be that it  stimulates illegal immigration. When I have unwanted rowdy neighbors in my yard, the last thing that is needed is to offer them ‘free beer’.
