Serfdom, Revolution or Southern Independence

Serfdom, Revolution, Or Southern Independence

As the boot of centralized fascist-socialist tyranny pushes harder on our necks, we have three choices: 1) serfdom; 2) revolution; or 3) Southern independence. I would hope those reading this would have already omitted option number one from consideration.

However, serfdom will likely be the choice of the majority of Americans (and maybe even of Southerners). Why? It is the easiest path. It requires one to do nothing out of the ordinary, to take no risks nor face any danger. Because most people like their bread and circuses and don’t want to be taken out of their comfortable day-to-day existence, they will chose serfdom and convince themselves it is the reasonable and even the patriotic thing to do. Others who might know better will choose this path because of fear.

The revolution option is infinitely better than serfdom, but it has its downside, too. Most revolutions, historically speaking, are bloody affairs that often, as it is said, “devour their own children.” Before you remind me of the successful American Revolution, please remember that that event was a secession movement against the British Empire and not a turning of the world upside down as was the French Revolution. Modern revolutions normally degenerate very quickly into chaos. Before you advocate letting the revolution genie out of her bottle, know this: the Feds may be inept at most things, but they have proven themselves expert at killing people and destroying things. Yes, it may have to come down to an armed stand off; however, there is a better way than out-and-out revolution that leads to this point.

I prefer option three: Southern independence. Our States are historically the loci of ultimate temporal sovereignty within our federated, constitutional republic. The Founders intended it to be that way. Any of the Southern States (or any of the fifty) can assert that sovereignty anytime it wishes by withdrawing from the voluntary union of the States united. By withdrawing (or seceding) through the action of its legislature or another body elected for that specific purpose, the State is on solid legal and moral ground. Our lesser magistrates would be doing exactly what they should to protect the lives, liberty, and property of the State’s citizens against the encroachment of tyranny.

A proper prelude to secession might be Nullification and Interposition. If the federal Congress, the President, or the federal courts (or any combination of the three) should commit unconstitutional acts against the States and the citizens thereof, a State could simply declare that action, be it a law, an executive order, or a legal ruling, to be of no effect within the State’s borders. Should the feds press the issue (which they likely would), then the State government (again, the lesser magistrate) would have the duty to interpose itself between its citizens and the federal forces arrayed against them. This might take the form of the mobilization of a true State Militia (not the National Guard, which can be “federalized”). This is why you should take the right to keep and bear arms seriously.

The use of Nullification and Interposition (and a subsequent secession) might, it is true, lead to armed conflict just as revolution would. However, the former would have the force of history and law on its side whereas the latter, though justifiable, would be more desultory, disorganized, and chaotic. I think it’s always better, at least for as long as possible, to have some lawful and time-honored precedents on your side.

Under present circumstances, brought upon us by both major political parties and our own lack of vigilance, I don’t see any other options but the three I’ve briefly outlined above. Because serfdom is out for most of those who will read this, we had better think long and hard about the other two options. We will have to choose one. I pray we choose wisely.

A Name and a Place among the Nations of the Earth

A NAME AND A PLACE AMONG THE NATIONS OF THE EARTH

Secession talk is spreading like wildfire across the country. Polls tell us that support for the States reasserting their sovereignty under the 10th Amendment is higher than ever. Financial and political failure and ineptitude point up the invalidity of large nation-states and empires in the early 21st century.

The prospect of devolution cuts across political and ideological lines; left and right in the U.S. both support measures to restrain the illicit power of Washington, DC. Nor is the anti-DC movement restricted to one particular historic American region. Vermont, Alaska, and Hawaii bear this out.

But as a native Southerner, I am primarily concerned about the South and her future. I love my own people better than anyone else. Will our cultural inheritance, our liberty, and our people be best served by remaining within an increasingly alien and hostile “union” or by going our own way as an independent confederation of States?

There are plenty of well-intentioned voices suggesting that the South remain part of the current political, cultural, social, and economic arrangement. Within that arrangement these people apparently hope to defend our Southern inheritance of liberty in all its tangible and non-tangible manifestations. Their great hope is to convince the ruling elite that they must reform themselves for the betterment of all, including the traditional South. Furthermore, theirs is a tacit acknowledgement that if only the South’s foes would see the truth, then they would embrace our Southern inheritance as the panacea for all of America’s ills.

Permit me now to object. The South’s elitist enemies do not care about truth or about how sublime we think our way of life to be. On the contrary, they consider us as expendable rednecks. They care about power and power alone. The reason they view our flags and other concrete symbols of our civilization as threatening, divisive, and offensive is because the ideas and people that these symbols represent are threatening, divisive, and offensive to their worldview. And all challenges to their power must be eradicated by whatever means necessary. Do you really believe that the South’s enemies are open to reasonable discussion?

When we and our symbols cease to be threatening, divisive, and offensive to our enemies, then it can mean only one thing. We have lost. For our own sake and that of our posterity, may we always be a stumbling block to our enemies. May we always be prepared to fight tooth and nail for our land and our people.

The voluntary Union of sovereign States given us by the Founders is now a dead thing of the past. The revolution that destroyed the Constitution and our old republic has come and gone and most folks do not even realize it. What many “conservatives” today seek to conserve is only a pale imitation of long departed principles and the way of life they once informed. In short, the current polity is well past meaningful reformation. Adhering to it in the hope that it can be reformed is a suicidal course for the South and her people. The indisputable evidence of this is before our eyes daily, yet many are still blinded to it.

The South is now ruled by an alien class and ideology that are completely hostile to our historic way of life. Our values, mores, and ethics are mocked. Our people have become nothing more than voters in rigged and meaningless four-year election cycles; consumers of foreign-made trinkets and poisoned food products; cannon fodder for the empire’s aggressive foreign military campaigns; and sheep to be fleeced for higher and higher taxes and immoral bailouts of the elites. It is clear that the descendants of America’s proud and hardy founding stock have meekly acquiesced in their dispossession and a resulting third-class status behind loud and domineering minority groups and Third World immigrants. But we still smile and hope for the best.

The imperial executive branch in Washington has implemented a police state at home and a quagmire of conflict abroad. Congress rubber-stamps whatever the executive branch desires. The courts mock truth, justice, and God at every turn. Our own State governments, poisoned finally by the miasmic vapors from the Potomac, have become the preserves of toadies, hacks, and sycophants who envy what Washington, DC, is able to do to the rights and liberties of the people. The media ridicule us for our dress and speech, manners and mores. Our schools and colleges have long lapsed from our control, teaching our young to despise their ancestors and themselves. Big business funds our enemies to the tune of hundreds of millions a year. The Founders’ Constitution is long dead and buried, replaced with a false document forged in the wake of the bloody subjugation of the Confederacy. I ask you, then, why should we stay and subject ourselves to the machinations of this organized criminal enterprise in DC? Could we not do better on our own? At the very least, we would be ruling our own house according to our own accepted standards.

The Southern Cause has long been ridiculed as the Lost Cause. In reality, nothing could be further from the truth. The real Lost Cause is the American Empire and any attempts to reform it. Southern independence is the only realistic hope we have of leaving our own children and grandchildren a bright and prosperous future. Without our independence, we will have no way of turning back the revolution that holds the South captive. Do you really think that the socialist-fascist revolutionaries are really through with us? Do you think they will halt their perverse agenda short of total victory? And that total victory means the final destruction of all that you, dear fellow Southerner, hold dear—family, faith, and freedom.

For those timid souls who desire to take the safe and familiar path that leads to half measure, we in The League of the South bid you to rethink your position and join with us. From the start, we have been staunch defenders of the whole measure of independence. God willing, we shall so remain.

Every man must choose for himself the path he will tread. It is human nature to seek out the easy way. That is what our enemies count on us to do. The familiar course is comfortable and reassuring and is lined with every sort of physical, emotional, and spiritual allurement. But in the end it leads to Hell. Conversely, the path that begins dark, dreary, and foreboding leads ultimately, as Scripture tells us, to the light. Those who have trod this way have often suffered mightily (examine the tribulations of Jefferson Davis, not to mention the ultimate example of our Lord and Saviour, Christ Jesus), and in their suffering they have found redemption for themselves, their people, and their civilization. Walking the hard, ominous path is called duty. No one who performs his duty ever really loses. Perhaps he is seen as a loser according to the world’s standards, but not according to the perfect standards of Providence.

We do not live in the past, but the past lives in us. By all worldly accounts, our Confederate ancestors lost. Their efforts to establish an independent South did not bear fruit from 1861-65. But the ebb and flow of future events are unknown to mortal man. The seeds sown by those noble souls some 140 years ago, watered by their blood, sweat, and tears, and superintended by the unmovable hand of Providence may yet spring to life in our own day.

If those men and women of the Confederacy were right in their day, then we who seek independence for the South are right in ours. Let us do our duty in all things, great and small, in the sure hope that the God of our fathers will indeed vindicate a just cause.

May God answer the prayer of the humble Lee when he asked that the South be granted a name and place among the nations of the earth. Southern independence now!

Deo Vindice. Resurgam.

FTC meddling again

They can’t help it. The Yankee mindset to meddle and tell others how to live their lives is something that the empire can not resist. In the latest (as of this morning), the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) is planning on scrutinizing blogs that make false claims. The agency wants the power to go after bloggers and the companies that support them. On the surface, the power grab looks like consumer protection. Rather than allow the free market to do its thing, they interfere. I suspect it is really about increasing government control and wanting to circumvent any way people have found of making money that they do not have a way to control. In many ways, it is a backdoor way to monitor and control the content on the internet, all in the name of “Consumer Protection”. The agency is trying to find ways of watering down free speech.

It is not by accident that in front of this agency, there are two large statues of men restraining strong horses. This is to symbolize the restraint of trade. Well, that is what they are seeking to do, to restrain and control trade, in areas they have no business meddling in.

What I can tell you is that any product endorse here (other than my books), I do not receive any kickback or renumeration for. The endorsements are my opinions. SO when you buy books from Walter D. Kennedy or Al Benson, I do not receive anything for them. They are good books which should be on every self-respecting Southron’s shelves. I can also recommend Texana Cigars in Chappel Hill Texas. They have a find product. I can recommend Dr. Hill’s books on Scottish history. The old adage, “Buy the truth and sell it not” is very true concerning finding factual history of Texas and the South. You need a history that you can depend on. You need a history that does not ridicule your faith, your heritage or your ideals. You need a set of facts that you can count on in debates. You need good history.

2009 LOS National Conference

ANNOUNCING THE 2009 LEAGUE OF THE SOUTH NATIONAL
CONFERENCE

30-31 OCTOBER

CHATTANOOGA CONVENTION CENTER,
CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE

The League of the South will hold its 2009 National
Conference once again in Chattanooga,
Tennessee
, on 30-31 October.

The confirmed speakers thus far are: Mike Crane, Ray
McBerry, Mark Thomey, Tom Moore, Dennis Fusaro
(Second Amendment activist),
Franklin Sanders, and Michael Hill.

Last year’s conference dealt with the imminent collapse of
the American Empire. Since then, the empire has done a remarkable job of
collapsing itself and almost everything else, especially the economy. In recent
weeks, there’s been a lot of talk of secession from various State officials,
political candidates, and media commentators. After fifteen years, people are
finally listening to our message. More and more Southerners (as well as other
Americans) are coming to realize that it makes no sense to stay aboard a
sinking ship.

The theme of this year’s League conference will be “Southern Independence: What Do Y’all Think Now?” There is
a rising tide of support for secession and independence, and the League intends
to take advantage of it. We hope you’ll join us this year in Chattanooga for what promises to be a very
important weekend of speeches, planning, and good fellowship.

Conference registration is $50 per individual, $75 per
couple, and $100 per family. Attendees can register either online at www.dixienet.org or by sending a check or
money order to The League of the South, PO Box 760, Killen, Alabama 35645.
Please provide the names of everyone in your party, as well as city and State
of residence, so we can have nametags ready for them at the door.

A list of local hotels will be forthcoming on our www.dixienet.org website.

On Secession and Southern Independence

ON SECESSION AND SOUTHERN INDEPENDENCE

12 May 2009

In light of the recent interest in secession, there are some fundamental points we need to understand in order to counter those who claim that this time-honoured remedy against tyranny is un-American and even treasonous. The voluntary union (or confederacy) of States known as the United States was born of a secessionist movement against Great Britain, and our Declaration of Independence is, at base, a secessionist document. How, then, can secession legitimately be called un-American? When our Founding Fathers broke the bonds of political association with the British Empire in 1776, the former colonies became free and independent States constituting thirteen separate communities, each asserting its sovereignty. This arrangement received confirmation in the Articles of Confederation (1778) and the Treaty of Paris (1783). Americans themselves, as well as their British foe, acknowledged that each State was a separate and sovereign entity. The sovereignty of the separate States is an important issue in understanding how the United States was formed under its Constitution of 1787-88. When delegates met in Philadelphia in May 1787, they came as representatives selected by the people (i.e. citizens) of their respective States. The people of the States did not give their delegates any authority to make binding agreements; rather, they could only discuss proposed changes to the Articles of Confederation. Any changes to the Articles would become effective only if ratified in convention by the citizens of the separate States. The result of the Philadelphia Convention of 1787 was, of course, the U.S. Constitution. However, the document was not binding until nine of the thirteen States ratified it for themselves. That happened in 1788, and those nine States entered into a compact (or contract) with each other and, by doing so, created the political union known as the United States (or, more accurately, the States United). Four States, for a time, remained outside of the union and thus were not bound by the compact. Eventually, though, all thirteen States ratified and united. It is important to note that no State (or States) could answer for another State. Each State acceded to the compact by its own sovereign will. Moreover, all of them understood that they might secede from the compact by those same means-by a ratifying convention of their citizens or representatives. Nowhere does the Constitution forbid a State from seceding from the union. In fact, the Tenth Amendment (contained in the Bill of Rights of 1791) expressly confirms that “the powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution nor prohibited by it to the States are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.” The power to force a State against its will to remain in the union is absent among the powers delegated to the general (or federal) government; therefore, the right of secession is reserved to the States, or more precisely, to the people of the States. Some of the New England States threatened to secede several times before 1860 (e.g. 1803, 1807, 1814, and 1844-45). At no time did the Southern States deny them this right. However, when a number of Southern States seceded in 1860-61, Lincoln and the Republican Party went to war to prevent them from exercising their Constitutional right. Simply put, Lincoln placed the forced “unity” of the States above the Constitution itself, and this action set him in opposition to the principles of the American Founders. Northern victory in 1865 marked the end of true Constitutional government in America. In its place, the American Empire now defines the limits of its own power without serious regard to the Constitution. Formerly free and sovereign States have become little more than administrative provinces of an all-powerful central government in Washington, DC. Without a serious challenge to its authority, which the acknowledged right of secession is, our government will not reform itself. We are not free people if we are not free to leave. Our colonial ancestors acknowledged what our present government (and popular opinion) denies: that, at some time, dissolving our political bonds might be a necessary and proper course. That time came in 1860-61, and The League of the South believes it has come again. Secession, as Thomas Jefferson acknowledged, is the assertion of the inalienable right of a people to change their form of government whenever it ceases to fulfill the purposes for which they created it. Under our Constitution this should be a peaceful remedy. The decision of a State or States to withdraw peacefully from a political association is not revolutionary or rebellious. On the contrary, the government that is no longer responsive to its people, a government that denies its people their inalienable rights, is revolutionary. The right of secession is never more necessary than when it is denied. Some say that secession is impractical and/or unattainable. It certainly is both as long as the people of the States remain ignorant of it as a remedy to tyranny handed down to them by earlier generations. We, the people of the States, still have the weapon and the legitimate power of reform (sovereignty). The only thing we lack is the collective will to wield it.

Cultural Marxists one and all

A STATEMENT FROM THE LEAGUE OF THE SOUTH

5 November 2008

Killen, Alabama: McCain? Obama? Republicans? Democrats? Either way, The League of the South goes about its business. Our objective does not change with the political winds. We are dedicated to bringing about a free and independent Southern republic.

We see little real difference in the way either party rules America and the South. Both are committed to expanding the empire and multiculturalism. In other words, both are proponents of Cultural Marxism. But at least Obama and the Democrats are open about it.

For those who believe they have no representation in either party, The League of the South invites you to join our growing ranks. We stand squarely in opposition to the Cultural Marxists; we are Southern Traditionalists who invoke not a bankrupt ideology  but the favor and guidance of Almighty God. We take our stand on unchanging, solid ground. Come join us today.

2008 League of the South National Conference Announced

ANNOUNCING THE LEAGUE OF THE SOUTH’S 2008 NATIONAL CONFERENCE

31 OCTOBER-1 NOVEMBER AT THE CHATTANOOGA (TENNESSEE) CONVENTION CENTER

CONFERENCE THEME: “SURVIVING THE EMPIRE’S COLLAPSE”

The League of the South will hold its 2008 national conference once again in beautiful Chattanooga on the banks of the Tennessee River on Friday and Saturday, 31 October and 1 November. We will meet in the Chattanooga Convention Center.

The year’s theme—“Surviving the Empire’s Collapse”—is intended to be a practical one. As inflation soars and the dollar falls, resulting in higher and higher prices for energy, food, and many other necessities, life becomes more difficult for the average, hard-working families of the South. Indeed, because of these factors coupled with continuing wars and the sub-prime mortgage crisis and the potential meltdown of the credit markets, it is, we believe, imperative that folks learn how to provide for the basic necessities themselves or at least within their local communities. Not since the Great Depression of the 1930s has it been more important for local communities to be able to help themselves instead of depending on a fragile system of money, credit, supply, and transportation. The speeches at our 2008 conference will help you understand the crisis and prepare practically to withstand it. If we are to be there to “pick up the pieces” after the collapse and restore ordered liberty to our communities and States, then we had better start getting ready now.

Among the things you will learn: How to help develop a local agricultural economy; How to become a freeholder and wean yourself from dependence on the corporate system; How gold and silver can free you from a corrupt inflationary money system; How to implement the ideas of the Nashville Agrarians and the English Distributists in our own day; How to organize a political movement based on “localism;” Short- and long-term strategies for self-sufficient households; the Biblical foundations for self-sufficiency and localism, among others.

We urge you and your family and friends to attend this unique and important League of the South conference.

Scheduled Speakers

Michael Peroutka, Esq, 2004 Presidential Candidate for the Constitution Party

Pastor John Weaver, celebrated speaker and author

Mike Crane, founder of the Southern Party of Georgia

Franklin Sanders, LS Board member, editor of The Free Magnolia & The Moneychanger

Michael Tuggle, LS Board member and blogmaster of the Rebellion Blog on Dixienet.org

Catherine Austin Fitts, President, Solari, Inc. and Manager, Solari Investment Advisory Services, LLC

Michael Hill, League of the South President

In addition to these (and other) speakers, we will host a workshop on Saturday afternoon on “How to Prepare Your Household for the Collapse.”

The conference will begin at 9:00 am and conclude at 5:00 pm on both Friday and Saturday. To register, simply fill out the form below and mail it, along with your registration fee, to the League of the South. We hope to see you in Chattanooga.

Bass Boats Under Attack!

Never ask what kind of trouble the hired help is the Imperial City are up to. They are always up to some kind of shenanigans. In one of the latest, recreational boat users may soon have to obtain Federal and State permits to operate their vessels. Boaters will face yearly fees, red tape, citizen lawsuits, penalties for non-compliance. New proposed regulations apply to deck run-off, bilge water, engine cooling water and other discharge from recreational boats.

Needless to say, this is an intrusion of bureaucracy into our freedoms. If you are one of the the 3 B fans identified by Dr. Micheal Hill (Ball, Beer, and Boats), the time has come to wake up and take action. If you want more intrusiveness, then sit back, ignore the information and keep sleeping away your freedoms.

Coddling Troublemakers

A recent New York Times story addressed a program organized by the State Department. The program seeks to “reach out” to European Muslims and give them exposure to the empire. The Muslims they are reaching out to are from the areas of Paris that erupted in riots. How does the empire justify such programs? To me it seems that they are rewarding the trouble-makers by giving them a trip to the Empire. Part of what is more disturbing is that it is a “long-standing program”. In other words this has been going on a while. The taxpayers have been paying for youths from trouble-makers areas to come to the US. It is said that the program allows future leaders to have some exposure to the US. If they were “true” and genuine future leaders, they would find the money to underwrite the trip themselves. Such programs amount to buying off the handpicked leaders who the government identifies.

If this is the type of foreign programs the empire spends it time and money on, it is no wonder that people like Omar Sharif blasts the empires foreign policy and claims that Americans don’t know anything.  This is very akin to Dr. Hill assertion about the three B’s that Americans focus their time and attention on–Ball (baseball, football, etc.). beer, and bass boats.

It is because the people have been lulled into complacency that tax dollars are being spent giving troubled youths vacations in America.

Free Texas from such insanity,

Press Release re: DixieNet

The Rebirth of DixieNet

LS News Service - 15 April AD 2008

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Recent statistical data indicates that as the political and social outlook becomes more uncertain, the public is taking a serious look at the viability of political devolution and the message of the League of the South.

KILLEN, AL (LSNS) - The figures for website visitors to the LS National website, DixieNet.Org, reveal a sharp increase during the month of March 2008 as well as the early days of April, according to official statistical data compiled by the DixieNet website project team. ”We are very pleased with this latest report,” said LS President, Michael Hill.  Dr Hill continued, “DixieNet traffic has been on a steady increase since October 2007 without any sign of slowing down. This trend indicates to us that the public is taking a serious look at our message of political devolution in these very uncertain times.”  Thanks to public interest generated from the Second North American Secessionist Convention and the League of the South National Conference held in Chattanooga, TN, October was one of the most productive months for the League in recent memory and has served as the catalyst for an ever growing flow of traffic to DixieNet.

“While we are excited about our progress thus far, we are in no way prepared to rest upon our laurels,” said Terry Compton, DixieNet website project leader.  ”In fact,” Compton continues, “Mike Crane, Mike Tuggle, and I are working harder now than ever before to make DixieNet the gold standard for online public relations, not only among Southern Movement websites, but within the realm of social and political activism in general.”

DixieNet.Org boasts a hefty repository of content ranging from scholarly essays on states’ rights, Southern cultural resurgence, economic issues, and education, to articles on the modern trend toward devolution as a viable means of regaining the political, social, and cultural right of self determination for peoples world wide.

For additional information about the League of the South, DixieNet, or how to advertise  your business with the website, please visit http://www.dixienet.org or contact the League of the South national office at (800) 888-3163.
