The mainstream media often makes a big deal of anyone even remotely associated with the League of the South. In their latest frenzy, the co-author of Sarah Palin’s biography is the target. Since Lynn worked with a member of the League of the South on some of his material, now she is painted as having ‘associations’ with the League. When I saw this I wondered, “What is it about the League that makes them a threat to the liberal establishment?”
In response, several things came to mind. 1) The LOS holds to Biblical based values. The current society does not like anyone who takes a stand for absolute values. Standing up and saying something is wrong or proclaiming it as sin is a no-no to them which they label as ‘hate’.
2) The LOS addresses culture. It is not a group, like many out there that focus on secession alone. By addressing values, history and heritage they are maintaining a connection with the culture. Culture is what either keeps a civilization strong or causes it to rot. When a culture such as the empire’s teaches that perversions and perverse behavior is ‘normal’ or acceptable, something is wrong. History has shown that such practices are associated with cultures in decline. The LOS wants a strong culture with values that keep it strong. The LOS is not about to start witch hunts of any kinds, yet it will not tolerate such practices being forced on children or others.
3) The LOS wants its people to prosper and become self-sufficient. The empire, by contrast wants people subjects that are dependent on government handouts. Through welfare and government aid programs, they seek to keep the people returning to government to fix the problems. The LOS believes that things like allodial titles, are good for the people. They believe that the people’s money belongs to the people and not to the government, unlike the empire that believes they own you and your money, even when you are outside of its jurisdiction. The empire also controls peoples behavior through the tax system, rather than allowing them to be free. Recently Pastors spoke out against the practice of using the tax code to stifle free speech from the pulpits. What many do not realize is that the empire began silencing the pulpits as part of reconstruction. They wanted the pulpit to not speak out on politics anymore, like they did during the American War of Secession against England.
Taking such positions is threatening to the empire. A moral, self-sufficient people do not need a big government. They do not need hand outs. Such a people know what is right and what is wrong without the government telling them so. That is a threat to the empire. Such a people would not surrender their soverignty, would protect their borders and would not seek to meddle in other nations affairs.
