The Obama regime continues sinking in the polls. As the ship of empire continues sinking, Vice President Joe Biden continues blaming others for the bad choices and policies of this regime. His Summer of Recovery is now called a ‘Bush Recession‘. It is amazing how this regime flip-flops on issues such as the economy.
Any serious student of economics knows that unstable laws lead to unstable economics. We have a regime that has radically changed the policies and laws. Logic dictates with such a radical change, that there will be changes in the economy. People can no longer make sound business decisions, due to the instability of the laws and policies. This leads to economic chaos. Rather than call it a Congressional recession or an Obama recession, since it was Obama’s policies passed by the Congress (come to think of it the Democratic Congress passed Bush’s policies as well-so it would be a Pelosi Recession without question.) This regime has stymied construction jobs, oil field jobs, military jobs, and health care jobs. They have only expanded government jobs. Sure there are health care jobs–if you want to work for the government.
Like the infantile spectacles they put on, the behavior of this regime is also infantile in blaming others rather than butching up and accepting responsibility for the fall out associated with bad policies and bad bills.
It seems that the current politicos all want to blame others for the current financial mess. In the latest installment, Representative Barney Frank is blaming Tom Delay for the financial mess of Fannie Mae.
It continues to amaze me how that Tom Delay was blamed for so many problems. Here in Texas, he saw to it that Congressional districts were redrawn so as to weaken democratic representation. Bear in mind that for many decades, the democrats saw to it that their districts, like the one I was in at the time were perpetual election machines. The representative at the time was Mike Andrews, His district was drawn so as to insure that he would always be elected. This kind of politicking had gone on for years in Texas. When Delay stepped in, he changed the districts and gave the democrats a taste of their own medicine.
Then the democrats rallied to defeat him. They pulled in money and contributors from around the empire and internationally to defeat Delay. I was furious that people from around the nation were trying to deprive my vote and influence in Congress. What business was it of theirs who that district in Texas elected. He was the person chosen by the people of that portion of Texas. The folks in California and New York should have minded their own business. But, as typical of the Yankee mindset, they had to meddle in the affairs of Texas, and more specifically my part of Texas. The evil ones pulled in the Travis County district attorney in an attempt to bring down my Congressman. Such is Texas politics.
Texas politics are tough enough, but now Barney Frank wants to blame him for the Fannie Mae problem? PLEASE..haven’t the Yankee meddlers done enough? The federal programs that created the mess were passed under the Clinton regime. But will they blame him? NO. Instead they will blame the Bush regime for their problems. It has not occurred to them that government is the problem. The more government intervention, the bigger the problem. The chickens have started coming home to roost and now they are looking for straw dogs to blame things on. Since Delay was often demonized, they blame him again.
Instead, follow the money. Look at who Fannie Mae contributed money to:

Recall, that it was the democrats who refused allowing oversight of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. People forget that Rahm Emmanuel was on the panel that was supposed to oversee Freddie Mac. (Hmmm… any conflict of interest?).
What is clear is this. The regime is looking for people to blame. Tom Delay is the latest person to blame. They can only lay so much on Bush, now they need someone else to blame. Rather than butch up and take responsibility they only seek blame and MORE government intervention.
We need LESS government intervention, less blaming and more accountability.
Profligate CONgressman Barney Frank (Democrat-Mass) had the audacity to chide the public in some of the ongoing hazing going on in the imperial city as the bailout plan is discussed.
“We had an election last year which had pretty decisive results in the White House, the Senate and the House. And it did say that public spending for improved infrastructure, to keep bridges from crumbling, to keep cops and firefighters working is a good thing,” said Barney Frank.
First, I wonder who the “We” is? The people of Texas didn’t elect him, and they did not elect the Chosen One. Texas did not send a majority of democrats to the Imperial City. We sent people who would take stands. Now that they are doing what they were hired to do he is pitching a whiney baby fit. Senator John Cornyn of Texas has been outspoken and claims that the spending is “just spending as far as the eye can see.”
It is appalling how there is talk of wanting the American people to see the legislation, yet with the rapid speed which Pelosi rammed it through CONgress and the strict rules she placed on input from others indicate it was a “shut up and pass it” approach to legislation. The bailout bill is more indication that the talk about working together means, “do it our way”. There is no significant dialogue, yet alone debate. Barney Frank forgets that Texas did not send the Chosen One to Mordor on the Potomac. We sent people to generally oppose the Chosen One. Our CONgressmen were sent to represent the people of Texas and the needs of Texans, NOT the needs of Detroit, NOT the needs of Wall Street. Frank’s comments tell me that the hired help is doing what they were supposed to do.
Leave it to CONgress to want to fix anything they can get their hands on. If they fixed cats, we would be over run with them. Now CONgress Critter Barney Frank is taking the lead to save us from “the mortgage crisis!”. I can tell you now that even before this situation, that many layers of red tape existed. several years ago, when purchasing a house, we had to fill out some of those required federal forms. When a legal question came up concerning those forms and enforcing the law, it was a joke. The little phrase warning about federal penalties was laughable. I called numerous departments of the government and no one would enforce their own laws. A federal crime was committed and no one cared. I learned many things from that episode.
One thing that was readily clear was that the paperwork means nothing. The warnings about federal crimes about falsifying means nothing. The warnings about how it is a criminal offense to lie to the federal government meant nothing. If CONgress were serious about reform, start by enforcing the laws that already exist. When laws are not enforced, they become vain. I suspect that this whole episode is likely to turn into another exercise in vanity for CONgress.
Another thing I learned is that when there is so much paperwork, the left hand often does not know what the right one is doing. No one was sure which department was responsible for enforcing federal laws. At the time I was involved in a case before a federal court. Did the federal judge care that one of the laws he was supposed to enforce was being violated? NO, he didn’t care about that, he was there to enforce the law, just not that one. The lawyers also did not seem to care that the law was being violated either. The lawyers know that the system really doesn’t care about enforcing some laws.

In local Texas news, the town of Tuscola is in an uproar over a controversial book the teacher let a student read. I am not mentioning the name of the book since I do not want to plug the author for such morally degraded material. Although I support free speech, I also support local government. Since the local school board decided that the book was inappropriate, and they are taking action on it, good for them. They are now setting the standards for their community rather than letting the Pulitzer prize committee set the standards. The Texas League of the South supports the school board in its decision. Since the book deals with necrophilia, I can easily understand the boards decision. What kind of teacher would encourage students to read about necrophilia? Such things could only happen in a public high school indoctrination center.
Well, such is the state of things. The CONgress wants more power and critics are complaining about the school board in Tuscola exercising their power in a local community issue. Both issues involve morals. If CONgress did not reward people for bad credit and breach of contract, there would not be a Mortgage crisis. Good solid moral teaching is that you pay your bills, and that necrophilia and rape are not acceptable. In today’s moral morass, CONgress is rewarding immorality and critics are complaining about a school board that wants to keep smut out of their school.
