It is easy to post articles and comments on stories dear to Texas and Southern Independence. As Texans and Southrons, we often talk tough, yet often talk is cheap. When it comes time to show support in terms of independence issues, there is very weak follow through. Sure we can choose to ‘like’ something and get traffic, but will you attend meetings? Will you talk to others about Independence? Will you buy products, books and items that support Independence? Will you write book reviews on Amazon for Southern writers? Books like The Grey Book, The South Was Right and Tom Green’s Texas (Secession) books do not have many Southrons reviewing them. Instead, we talk about independence, but do not show our support for independence. We push the like button, since it is easy rather than take the effort to write supportive reviews that could encourage many fence sitters to take action. You may not be a good talker or be able to socialize at gun shows or other recruiting events, but you can write book reviews for Southron writers. Go out and support the works of Clyde Wilson, Mike Tuggle, Thomas Fleming, Tom Green, Donnie Kennedy, Michael Hill, and others. While you are at it, write reviews of the CD’s and albums with Southron songs, like Bobby Horton. Write positive reviews for Southron movies. If you want more of them, let Amazon and other sites know it. When you do that it is like yelling a thunderous “Yee-Haw” and “Let’s Hear it for Dixie!”. Such things encourage the writers and songwriters that preserve our history and culture. The time is now upon you to make your voice heard. “Let’s hear it for Dixie!” needs to mean something.

It is easy to gripe about Hollywood and the tripe it produces. It takes effort to change that, including your efforts in this cultural struggle.

In the latest re-definition of what it means to be an American, Congress critter Jackie Speier of California has declared that it is un-American to not fund the Obamacare outreach. I guess this latest addition will be added to the long list of behaviors considered to be un-American.

Let’s see, if you are a big business, you are now considered un-American. If you ‘buy american’ you are considered un-American. If you support the NRA, you are un-American. Taking steps to control Medicaid costs is now considered un-American. Gay marriage is considered un-American. It was un-American for the head of the 0-regime to make a call for ‘duty’ and service’. There are numerous other recent examples of behaviors and attitudes that someone has labelled as being un-American.

The problem is that when you consider the united States as a propositional nation, you run into problems. When this happens, it is not a ‘real’ nation, but only a commitment to an idea. By changing the definition of America to an idea, the meaning often becomes fluid and shifts to meet the needs of the handlers and powers that be. When you define America as a particular geographic place, with a particular culture, such changes in definition are not so easily made. The conservative often still view America as a geographic place with a commitment to Christian values. Progressives view America as a ‘proposition’ that ‘all men are created equal’. With that kind of proposition, the door is open to socialism. They often change what equality means as well. Instead of everyone having equality before the law, now it becomes, equality of opportunity and equality of outcome, equality of income. They want us all to be homogenized into a single unit. By shifting what equality means, they change their focus. and change the ground rules of how society operates.

The latest accusations of being un-American are the latest round in the propaganda wars.

I still chuckle to myself knowing from history that the founding fathers wanted the nation to live off of tariffs only. They also had thriving businesses which consisted of smuggling, gun running and other fun filled activities. There were no currency controls. Each State made their own laws. If you did not like the laws of one State, you moved to another. There were no identity papers, and no passports. The government really could tell people no you can not live in our State and mean it. You could import whatever you wanted, including guns. There was no property tax. You owned your property in perpetuity. You had the mineral rights to your property. Perhaps they knew more about what it meant to be an American than people do now days.

Liberals, democrats and progressives play word games with us. The use terms like “American Values”, “freedom”, and “rights”. Although you have heard these terms before, and think you know what they mean, in the mouth of a liberal or Yankee, they mean something totally different than you assume. “American values” or its partner “American freedoms” do not mean the Christian values of the founding fathers, they are not referring to Biblical or conservative values, nor are they referring to having the freedom to live life without government restrictions. Instead they mean “Civil rights” in terms of they feel entitled to what you have. They want to be able to take what is yours without having to compensate you for it. They want you to have no recourse to deny them from taking what is yours. When they talk about “American values”, they are often referring to equality and diversity. They want to lead whatever kind of perverted, immoral or twisted lifestyle they want without you having any say so or interfering with them along with demanding that you condone what they do and no longer have the right to speak out against it.

When they say, they believe in America, they are referring to big centralized government, along with the control and policies it brings. They are not referring to an America where a man can do what he wants with his land/home, have the freedom to say what he wants, and being free from government interference. They want an America where the government monitors, censors, controls and watches all that you do along with demanding that you accept that control and do obeisance to it. That is not the same “American values” of the founding fathers that sought trade without government interference, the exercise of free speech without government censorship, the freedom to travel, being free from government officials going through your personal papers and monitoring.

Consider if you will how our sons and daughters have fought in wars to protect “American freedoms”, yet somehow with each war, we end up loosing more liberties at home. With each war, instead of increasing liberties at home, we loose more. These word games have been effective. By using words that we think we know what they are saying, politicians, local leaders, talking heads and pastors have led us astray. They have lulled many Southerners to sleep with the right words, yet what they mean is very different from what we assume.

Rather than fall for their word games, question what they mean by “American values”, “American freedoms”, etc. Rather than accept what they are saying without question, dare to question what they mean before you accept it.

Popular culture often makes heroes out of those who are proponents of wickedness. Although it saddened me, I was not surprised that the head of the regime congratulates a sports figure on their wickedness and sinful lifestyle, yet has still not honored a renowned soldier/sniper from Texas who died this year. The priorities of this regime and popular culture are clear. Those who receive appointments as ambassadors are not the best and brightest, but instead the richest donors who often use their monies to cover their wickedness. This tendency is nothing new. The famous British pastor, Charles Haddon Spurgeon wrote about how society built statues to those who were exceptionally vile, wicked or promoting the values that corrupt, while ignoring the wholesome and principled members of society during his time. Popular culture claims wanting people to be their best, yet glorify philanderers, plagiarists, and the vile with statues glorifying them, yet making a point not to mention the wickedness, so that they can pat themselves on the back for ‘good works’ when all they have done is to glorify the wicked.

The next time you see a modern statue, consider who it glorifies and what they actually stood for.

Instead of glorifying wickedness, we need to be encouraging honesty, leading principles lives, and lifting up Biblical values.

It is a striking contrast how six months after Hurricane Sandy, many thousands remain homeless and the people are raising questions about whether the federal government fulfilled its promises of helping them with how things are going in West, Texas. In West, the people are organizing fund raisers and being assisted by other Texas communities in recovery, since they are not sure that they can count on federal aid. There is a vast difference in how each community has dealt with the disaster they experienced. There are also lessons to be learned in the attitude and response of the people to what occurred in their lives.

It says a great deal when a community remains devastated six months after a disaster and the Governor of that State says that the head of the regime fulfilled his promises. My point is that as Texans and Southrons, we will not be able to count on the empire to assist us. It is nice if they do, but it is not to be depended on. When disaster struck my family with Hurricane Ike, I saw first hand who was there to assist and who was not. The Texas company HEB along with Anheiser Bush had trucks of supplies on the scene pronto. The empire…well, let’s say that they took their time. They did come through, but it often involved red tape, long waits and wanting to take control. I have seen federal assistance and local assistance in response to disasters.

Instead of being frustrated waiting for promises that are delayed or never come through, communities need self-reliance and mutual assistance.

For relationships to work, it takes give and take from both parties. Both parties have to respect and appreciate each other. One relationship where things are very unequal is that of the SBC to the federal government. The SBC often displays the federal banner outside its churches, some even have it in a place of honor within the sanctuary. There very room where they worship God and offer praise. The SBC also honors and respects those who work for the federal government. As a group, they have bent over backwards to accommodate the empire. So how does the empire repay them? By having the Pentagon block access to the SBC website. The empire bans praying in Jesus name at soldier’s funerals where they have control, the Penatgon bans the display of the cross on military bases in Mohammedean nations, while allow the gay flag to be flown, the penatgon also recently made it policy to remove Bible verse references on the optics of many of its weapons.

To me, this is lopsided relationship. One party goes all the giving and the other (the fedgov) maligns, and misuses the giving party. If this were a human relationship, they would call this abuse. If it was up to me, I would have the SBC remove the banner from any place of honor. I would not fly its banner in front of the houses of worship. If it was flown it would be in a subservient position to the Christian banner. Alas, I do not see changes coming. Many SBC churches will likely conform with the message they send with the display of the empire’s banner and the Christan banner being subservient to its position. They will likely submit to Cesare with more than he asks, giving their money, children, sanity, loyalty and spiritual discernment to the care of the empire. Like an abused spouse, they will be used and abused by the empire rather than return to their first love.

We need to pray for our churches and our people.

Another clear call to wake up is the handling of the Boston Marathon attack. The accused bomber said that he “Wanted to defend Islam”. His statement is a direct contradiction of the regime who claims that there is no war on Islamic terrorism and intentionally redefined national policy to view ‘violent extremism’ as threat. This kind of leadership is confusing and dangerous. A further sign is how the Saudi ‘person of interest’ was on the terror watch list, yet allowed to enter the US. . Congress is now wanting answers as to how one of the bombing suspects was allowed into the country AFTER Russia alerted the US to possible threats from him.

What all this confusion makes clear is that this regime is ….incompetent when it comes to dealing with threats. They can not protect the nation from threats, they do not know who the real enemy is and do not want to acknowledge the threat of Mohammedism. They have bent over backwards to kowtow to CAIR and the Saudi government and those entities turn around and attack the sovereignty of the States and communities.

Instead of such confusion, we need a government that does its job. Presently, the regime is too busy trying to open the borders and find new ways to use the sequester cuts to mess up the daily operations while preserving their own revenue than to do their job. Rather than defend the Constitution, they are trying to redefine it and weasel around it.

We need liberty!

I have learned that when the government officials are reading from a script, that you are being ‘played’. Canned speeches and remarks are earmarks of something that is being staged. I thought it was awfully ironic that the head of the 0-regime’s remarks were similar to what he said in response to Benghazi. When they say “We’ll get to the bottom of this”, it is a sure sign that they are going to cover things up. Already the Boston Marathon episode smells funny. The ‘person of interest’ was a devout Mohammedean. The mixed media signals about how he was a suspect versus he is a witness were a sign that something is fishy. When the police raided his home, I knew something was up. The police typically do not ransack the homes of witnesses and routine procedure. Nor do they take out spools of wire/cord for no reason at all. Now it seems that this ‘person of interest’ is being deported back to Saudi Arabia. Not only that, the head of the regime had an unscheduled meeting with the Saudi foreign minister as well. It does not help that the announcements of suspects being arrested, then the news sources suddenly change their story. It is also odd that the courthouse was evacuated under strange circumstances either.

Bear in mind, that the government took over the Fort Hood terrorist attack situation and we still do not have closure on that. Now we are going to trust the same government leadership that gave us Benghazi (where the survivors have still not been allowed to talk) will now take care of Boston? There is something odd about the way things are going. I am not advancing any particular theory other than this situation does not smell right and when canned speeches are being used, we are attending a scripted event.

Instead of government dog and pony shows, we need accountability. We need a leadership that holds people accountable rather than deporting them. For this regime to deport anyone takes on special significance. They wont even deport criminal immigrants, but now they want to deport this ‘person of interest’! This does not fit any logical pattern.

The ineptitude of this regime is clear.

As the media scramble to cover the events taking place today in Boston, there are some reporters who are going out of their way to find a connection with conservative groups (Wolf Blitzer) and even Waco (Luke Russert). Using their positions of societal influence to manipulate public opinions is nothing new. The media’s bias is clear. They do not like conservatives or Southrons. Russerts making connections to Waco bends history. He attempted connecting the Boston incident which occurred today, the 15th with an incident that occurred on April 19th. Although the marathon is being run on the day celebrated as Patriot’s Day, the real Patriot’s Day is April 19th. In early American history, it was the day of Lexington and Concord. People celebrated it as ‘Patriot’s Day’. It was also the day the BATF stormed the Branch Davidians in Waco, killing more children than Sandy Hook. Since it was the federal government doing the killing, little was made of the use of armored personnel carriers, helicopters, incendiary rounds or banned tear gas. Although each of these are military weapons being used against civilians, there was not the public outcry in the media like we have seen with the Connecticut tragedy. The 19th of April is also the anniversary of when the Polish freedom fighters in the Warsaw Ghetto halted an early morning attack of Nazi troops who sought the destruction of the ghetto and extermination of its inhabitants. This is the reason the people at Waco flew a flag commemorating the Warsaw Ghetto uprising on the 19th, which was the last day for many of them.

The liberal media is making it clear that they are looking for a Southern or conservative scapegoat on which to brandish all the blame for the ills of the nation. The Yankees have a long history of using the South as their whipping boys. This latest incident is just the latest example of how low they are willing to go, even to the point of stretching history to fit their perceptions. When they bend and distort Texas history, it is always a sore subject. The bottom line is that they lie, they distort the facts and when they are on a witch hunt, they make it obvious. It is also obvious that the media is not a friend of the South, conservatives or Texas.

Instead of lies and distortions, we need honest reporting.
