More government meddling in North Texas!

North Texas has more than its share of meddling Statists who want the empire to have more influence and power in Texas. One of the meddling Statists is Al Armendariz. He is a former chemical engineering professor at SMU and presently the head of EPA’s Region 6, which includes Texas (Gee, just like reconstruction, we are no longer viewed as a State, but as a nameless region). Mr. Armendariz does not like the Ozone related to the cement plants in North Texas. He views the engines used at the plants as a problem. His solution-MORE FEDERAL POLICIES. He wants to tell Texans how to operate their businesses. Even though he served as a college professor, he believes he knows what is best for Texas businesses and Texans.

It is not just the cement plants that will suffer. The EPA regulations are now putting public transportation in North Texas in jeopardy. The EPA under the leadership of Armendariz also wants to slow down if not stop drilling for natural gas in the area as well. Although the regime talks clean energy, such policies which hamper energy development are stifling economic growth for Texas. Remember to look at what they do rather than what they say. In Armendariz’s case, the EPA is being used to stop natural gas exploration, stop mass transit, override state regulatory powers and slow down if not stop cement production in the area. That is not job or growth stimulus, that is retarding growth of everything but the agencies power.

Fortunately, Governor Rick Perry and Texas has filed suit in federal court to slow down the power grab and contest CO2 being considered a ‘greenhouse pollutant’. The logic of asking the fox to render a wise judicial decision concerning the hen house escapes me, but at least he took a stand.

To make matters worse, the head of the regime is now claiming that the recent North Texas snows was due to man-made climate change. So here is a politician and political activist who is now claiming to have scientific credibility.

Once more the solution is LESS government meddling, NOT more government meddling.

Texas Businesses have more courage than Congress does!

A group of Texas businesses is doing what many elected CONgress critters do not have the courage to do. They are standing up to the tyranny of the empire! Rather than join the parade of destruction and strangled jobs led by the likes of CONgress critter Lloyd Doggett of the 25th Texas Congressional District, followed by Charlie Gonzales and Gene Green, these businesses are filing papers in federal court to challenge the federal government monitoring and controlling greenhouse gases. This is diametrically opposed to the actions of Lloyd Doggett, Gene Green and Charlie Gonzales who want limits on greenhouse gases and want to enforce those limits.

Could it be that these Texas businesses know more about what is good for Texas and Texas jobs that the Congressman from the 25th district? Although the working people of Texas know what is best, men like Doggett and green activist like Luke Metzger think that they know better.

In the present situation, the EPA (as an extension of the regime) is threatening to enforce greenhouse rules IF CONgress does not pass legislation. This is nothing more than bullying tactics. It is the use of threats, since the EPA does not have the legitimacy to act in this matter. Once again the regime is walking all over the working man. Rather than expand liberty, this regime does not pass up any opportunity to limit freedoms. In this case, it is about limiting CO2, yes good old carbon dioxide. The EPA is operating on the assumption that man-made CO2 contributes to global warming. The regime uses almost any excuse to expand its power, even when it is a myth.

The ability to put Texas to work is important. Strangling jobs based on bad science does not make good policy. Strangling jobs through such un-necessary limits on CO2 is also bad policy. In the name of pampering a pet group, men like Doggett have stifled the people they represent.

It is my hope that the people of Pasadena and the Gulf Coast will show their appreciation of Gene Green and his gutting of their jobs in the upcoming elections. I hope that the people of San Antonio, where Tesoro and Valero call home will see that Charlie Gonzales is NOT their friend. He is taking actions that severely hamper their ability to do business.

The answer my fellow Texians is LESS government. We need less nanny policies. We need a government that stays out of our business.

Tax them to death!

CONgress Critter Lloyd Doggett is a darling of the democrats, but he is hell on the people. In his latest outrage, he has proposed a 775% increase in tax on pipe tobacco. Yes I wrote 775% increase in tax. The reason being that cigarette smokers began smoking pipe tobacco instead. Although the United States has a long history of smugglers and tax evaders such as John Hancock and other founding fathers who prospered off of smuggling to avoid excessively high British taxes, CONgress Critter Doggett wants to operate in a mentality that is opposite the American Spirit. Instead he wants to tax the people with extreme taxes. He talks about ‘tax justice’, yet raising taxes 775% is not justice by any means or definition. (Oh and by the way, he wants to tax bankers bonuses as well. I wonder if he is taxing them 775% as well?).

It is not enough that he has taken our light bulbs away from us and wants to take our health insurance, now he wants MORE taxes. Never mind that he dismissed his critics as ‘wanting to cut medicare’, which he turns around and cuts in the Obamacare bill. (Don’t watch what he does, you are supposed to be entertained by the rhetoric). Although he messes up the pay for physicians in the Obamacare, he turns around and pushes the Medicare reimbursement Act to placate those he offended with the other bills.

Austin may love him, but his policies have burdened Texas and the nation with taxes, taxes and more taxes. He forgets that he was sent to represent Texas, NOT TAXES.

Reality catches up

The harsh nature of reality has a way of changing things for people, including the head of the regime. In his latest broken promise, he is now mulling raising taxes on people making less than $250,000. It seems that his massive spending has caught up with him. When a person spends that much, someone has to pay for it. The reality is that the people are going to have to pay for his playtime and giveaways.

Although the regime wants to penalize the citizens, it has gone out of its way to finance ACORN. Recall that they receive money from each home sale that is over $100,000. So the people are financing not only the regime’s profligate ways, but also its supporters.

It seems that not only the regime, but also China is waking up to the fact that they have been had. The government is taking steps to only have secured loans rather than just the ‘good faith’ of the powers that be.

We need a return to government that abides by the law. We need a return to a legitimate government, run by legitimate office holders. We need to turn from wickedness of supporting corrupt regimes and allowing corrupting practices. We need a return to God and righteousness.

Austin, get ready to take it…

Austin, Texas will soon experience the joy of Xcel Energy in their Pecan Street project. The Pecan Street Project is a prototype smart grid being built through a joint collaboration in Austin. The catch is that Austin Energy is associated with Xcel energy. This is the same company that is socking it to the citizens of Boulder to recoup the costs of setting up a smart grid in that city. Xcel is charging all the people in the state of Colorado for Boulder’s smart grid (real smart, eh?). Will the same thinking happen here in Texas? When you have the same players, doing the same thing (building a smart grid), can you expect anything less than the same outcome? Austin Energy and Xcel energy now charge ‘green’ customers more for energy than conventional customers. Heck, the same person who spearheaded the Boulder grid (Michael Carlson) is now on board with Gridpoint which is working with Austin Energy at the Pecan Street project. Once they have a centrally controlled grid, will the situation change? When past behavior is the best indicator of future behaviours, then Austinites had better get ready to pay more.

If Austin wants to do its own thing, let them do it. Just don’t expect all the people in Texas to pay for their things, like the people in Colorado are having to do for the Boulder smart grid. The smart grid amounts to nothing more than bringing central planning to utilities, which we do not need.

Smart Grid anyone?

If you ever had any doubts about the wisdom of the smart grid, consider that recently utility companies have come under cyber-attacks. Under the smart grid, the control for utilities will be centralized. In other words, all the cyber attacks would have to do is to attack one place rather than the many energy grids currently in existence. The danger has already been documented due to the vulnerabilities posed by smart grids.

Is is surprising that the nearby CONgress Critter, Lloyd Doggett is pushing the smart grid? He managed to obtain $10.5 BILLION dollars to promote the Pecan Street Project (smart grid) for portions of Austin. There are many other CONgress critters wanting to sell us down the river with this new technology. Bear in mind that Obama wanted 40 Billion for this technology. Doggett has jumped when Obama says frog and in return, he garnered 1/4 of those funds for this project. (Gee how did he manage to capture 1/4 of all those funds?). This was during a time that BAE systems which produces vehicles for the military in Sealy was declined. While Sealy hemorrhages from the loss of the BAE contract (2 Billion), Dogget and Pecan Street are flush with cash (10.5 Billion). Ironically the contract for such vehicles went to a company in Oshkosk , Wisconsin ( a district represented by Democrat Steve Kagan of Appleton, Wisconsin). Politics anyone? Texas looses 10,000 jobs, but Doggett and his cronies are riding high, while others in Sealy and throughout Texas are out of jobs.

There are better ways to deal with energy than the ’smart grid’. Many of these ideas could be put in place now rather than wait for the ‘promises’ of the smart grid and the dangers it poses for the energy system of the nation.

Once again, the answer is less government, not more of it. We need more private enterprise and less government policies. Government needs to get out of the way and let free enterprise unleash on the energy field.

Weird goings on at IRS

Not only is the IRS hiring new employees, it seems that now they want to arm them! In a notice that went up on 2 February 2010, the IRS is wanting to purchase shotguns for its agents. For what is reportedly a ‘voluntary’ compliance with their demands, the use of shotguns makes it look like “mandatory” voluntary compliance. It is also interesting to note that the IRS has made a point of hiring many ex-military in its operations.

Just connecting the dots folks. More IRS agents+shotguns+ex-military hires=ominous future for tax payers

Gone are the days when the US government was wholly supported by duties collected on imports. The founders never intended wages to be taxed, but….thanks to the tyrant Abe Lincoln who established the precedent of doing so, it is now established by practice.

In a free Southern Nation, the government would be funded by tariffs and duties. There would be some taxes, yet they would be limited to specific objects, not income. Each state would collect the taxes for that state, rather than a national police force doing the job (with shotguns at that!). I wonder if their agents will have to provide firearm proficiency in order to carry those 12-gauge pump-action numbers they will be holstering?

Backdoor Taxes Story Removed.

This morning, Yahoo reported that the backdoor taxes were going to hit the middle class. Soon after the story running, it was removed from the US site.. The Canadian version is still up though, which allows access. The removal is reported at the request of the White House. It seems that the regime does not want the truth to come out about the increase in taxes.

It seems that the regime found a way around the campaign promise to not raise taxes on the middle class. They just allow the tax cuts to run out, and allow taxes to rise by default. It is just that as the public, you are supposed to be too dumb to realize that. It even came out that Emanuel Rahm considers (left wing) protesters ‘retarded’.
His comments show the disdain the regime has for the citizens of the land whether they are members of his party or the opposition.

Seeing the censorship of the news in such a manner tells me several things. 1) The regime does not want the truth to get out, 2) The regime censors the news 3) That the present media environment is one that is subject to manipulation and control. 4) the regime views us as ignorant retards.

The propaganda department of the regime is at work and like most government workers, left the job half-done.

If you have not read the story, you may want to read it while it is still on line.

Bank sues customer:The depression is here.

A Texas bank, yes I said a Texas bank is suing its customer after the customer was the victim of a cyber attack on its account. The bank, Plains Capitol Bank took the bold move after its customer’s account was hacked into and depleted of $800,000. The action raises questions about who is responsible for cyber security of bank accounts. The bank claims that the theft of the money from its accounts were not their fault.

This kind of wackiness is sure to spread as businesses and people become more desperate to hold onto the funds they have in their hands. As we continue sinking into this depression, Larry Summers, the financial guru of this bunch has declared that “The Obama policies are working!”. If this is working, one has to be concerned about the end product.

As Summers makes his claims, more of the infrastructure around the nation is being sold to foreign governments and entities. We are being sold off piecemeal while the regime makes wild promises of recovery. Some are already envisioning that in Obama’s amerika, all will work for the government.

We NEED a free South. We NEED a free people. We NEED to reclaim what is rightfully ours.

Unconstitutional Propositions

In doing some further pondering on the SOTU, the regime is advocating several policies that are unconstitutional. It is as if they are saying “Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead” (which originated with a Yankee cramming stuff down the throats of Southrons in the first place).

Even though the Constitution is specific on what powers it allows for the central government, the regime is encroaching way beyond those limits. James Madison, author of our Constitution, wrote, “The powers delegated by the proposed Constitution to the federal government are few and defined. Those which are to remain in the State governments are numerous and indefinite.”

In his speech, Obama mentioned “freedom” only once, with absolutely no references to liberty.
This is a far cry from the founding fathers.

1. The power to take over and regulate the economy.

2. The power to take over and completely regulate our national health care system. (Note: the proposals from both parties lack constitutional authority. They are both illegal). Obama even went so far as to state that the American people are just not smart enough to support his illegal agenda: “I take my share of the blame for not explaining it more clearly to the American people.” (in other words we are not smart enough to know what is good for us). Like many issues, they attribute it to education, rather than acknowledge it is bad policy or unconstitutional, or immoral. When such roadblocks occur, they repeat their message a little louder and a little slower. Like much of what the Obama regime says, he has it totally backwards. We do understand the health care, that is why we oppose it. We see what it will do and don’t like what we see. He has made it clear-and we don’t want any of what he is selling.

3. The power to further regulate and tax the production of CO2 and energy. This is clearly outside of the scope of authority given to them and is further based on bad and misleading science.
