The Arrogance of Power

The hubris of the big government is becoming apparent. At the league, we have been telling people about it for a long time. With recent events, it is becoming more evident. The latest area where the hubris is seen is with the TSA. It seems that there is little room for humor with this agency. They have gone so far as to propose a bill (HR 3011) to make it criminal to talk bad about them or make fun of them.

So videos like the one below would be considered criminal.

What makes matters worse is that you have people like CONgress critter Sheila Jackson Lee (or SJL as she is known in some circles) claiming that the only thing that can stop another 9-11 is a Unionised screening operation. In her mind, having private screening is asking for trouble. (ed. It is rare that socialists ever think that the private sector can do a better job than unions of the government). I guess she is unaware of how FedEx and UPS have done VERY well as private companies in terms of delivering packages, or that private services in jails are doing well.

The private sector is always a better solution that government. The outlawing of humor and ridiculing by law is not a solution to any problem. Outlawing humor and criticism does not make it go away.

Instead of arrogant policies and arrogant politicians, we need accountability. We need more humor. We need more satire of the arrogance of power.

Liberty for Texas!
