More Beauracracy problems

Talk about bureaucracy! The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority received a $27 million grant Thursday morning from the Texas Transportation Commission. BUT—Here’s the catch. They regional mobility authority can’t use the money for construction. It can only be used for toll roads, environmental studies, engineering studies and administrative expenses. How is that for strings attached. For that kind of strings attached, I decided to investigate. Sure enough. Federal stimulus money with all the reconstruction agenda, progressive democratic control issues.

Common sense would dictate that if you were given a grant, you could use the monies how you see fit, but with federal dollars involved, there are strings attached. The Texas Transportation Commission is merely the middle man in this whole doling out of federal stimulus dollars.

On top of this, the Transportation Commission is trying to close loopholes for when cities can build projects more cost effectively than their estimates and funding. Austin is not the only community impacted by these regulations, it is also north Texas and other communities as well.

Funny thing, the Texas Transportation Commission sold municipal bonds for $1.5 billion in some recent transactions. Hmmm….

You gotta keep your eyes on the weasels in the hen house. Anytime politicians get near money that is not theirs, there is trouble.

Liberty for Texas and the South!
