Over the weekend, over 73,000 blogs were shut down by the empire’s police state without any warnings. These blogs were hosted on bloggetry, which uses a Wordpress platform. By shutting down the server, the empire effectively shout down the blogs themselves. The service was suspended at the request of an ‘unnamed’ law enforcement agency (how nice). The refusal of the law enforcement agency to name itself is not a good sign. When officers refuse to identify themselves, it is not a good sign, much less for the whole agency to do so. It was a common practice during the riots at Wayne State University for police officers to cover up their name badges when doing riot duty. The covering up of the names was not by accident. Such actions are intentional. Even the alleged wrong doing has not been identified other than a ‘history of abuse’. Some sources claim that the crackdown was for copyright violations, but this has not been confirmed. What has been confirmed is that other blogs are being monitored for their content and activities.
Is it any wonder that the same thing happened in China over the weekend as well.
The action represents the latest crackdown on freedoms, especially freedom of the press by this regime.
(A head’s up-The regime has begun using the term ‘Freedom of Worship’ rather than ‘Freedom of Religion’. The change occurred after the terror attack at Fort Hood. This change in wording also represents a change in the thinking of the regime in its attitude regarding religion and religious practices. Under freedom of religion, you can preach in the open and exercise your faith in public. Under freedom of worship, you can worship God anyway you want within the context of the worship service).
