Georgetown law professor Robin L. West recently wrote an article that illustrates many of the wrong headed problems with government indoctrination education. In a recent article, she claims that the primary responsibility of the State is education. Even though education is not even mentioned in the Constitution, she claims that this is the primary responsibility of the State. Perhaps that is why the Chosen One is experiencing problems doing his job of providing national defense. He must have studied at some of the same schools as Ms. West. …Hey! What do ya know…They were both professors at the University of Chicago School of Law. . That explains a lot. When such error is present in the schools, it is no wonder that there are problems of policy at the national levels of government. Is it any wonder that Michelle Obama was also at the University of Chicago? Hmmm….
It is clear that 1) she (Ms West) mis-represents the importance of education and the Constitution and 2) She mis-represents national policy priorities.
In her recent article, Ms West goes on to advocate more regulation and forced immunization of homeschoolers. Her suppositions carry with them further expansion of the power of the State over that of the family. She is essentially advocating that government knows best when it comes to raising children. The government can’t protect that nation, the planes, their own embassies or the schools, what makes her think that they can protect the children of the nation, when they have not done so yet.
Ms. West’s ideas are a clear example of the mindset which continues generating failed policies, misplaced priorities and a failure to understand the Constitution and what it actually says. It is no wonder that there is such misunderstanding regarding the Constitution and what are the Constitutional remedies to failed policies.
We need less of meddlesome professors and more of legal scholars who actually know what the Constitution says. We need government to expand our freedoms and not restrict them while expanding their own power. We need a return to sane policies and solid legal scholarship.
