As the topic of secession is under discussion, some noteworthy developments are occurring. One is that the talk of secession is spreading to other States, the other being that the viability and sanity of secession are being addressed.
In terms of having a plan on how to ‘go it on our own’, the League published the Grey Book, which contains all the nuts and bolts in terms of numbers and how to handle the leaving of the Union. The book originally came out in 2004.
A case can also be made that secession is not something that the Southern States would need to do again. All that they would need to do amounts to reactivating their secession acts (which could be done via State Legislatures.). If they really want to make a strong statement, reactivate the act and repudiate the coerced actions taken during reconstruction. (Bear in mind that any legal act done out of coercion or deception is invalid). If the Civil Rights laws were applied to reconstruction, then many acts of the States would not stand due to the government illegally depriving citizens of the right to vote.
Consider that for a moment. Using civil rights to restore States Rights. It sounds encouraging doesn’t it!
The biggest hurdle associated with secession is that of debt. Texas would have the responsibility of it’s share of the national debt (which is not getting any smaller). The one-world types know that debt is the glue that keeps the States in the Union. The empire often forgets that it was started by the States, and not vice-versa. Technically we should be called the States United or even the union of States. The founders never intended for the union to take precedence over the States themselves, to the point where people swear loyalty to the Union rather than to their home States.
Liberty for Texas!
