Calculator Abuse?

The latest example of buffoonery consists of the chief economist and senior economic advisor to the vice president, Jared Bernstein calling the computation figuring out how much each ’stimulus job’ costs as calculator abuse. The empire does not want the people to calculate that $160 BILLION divided by the ‘reported’ 1 million jobs saved comes to $160,000/job.  It is much too dangerous to have people calculating those numbers. Even the man on the street knows that $160,000 dollars spent to save 1 job is not a good investment. Bear in mind that some reports say the actual number of jobs preserved (note the weasel word play between saved and created jobs) has the figure at 640,000. When that number is used,  the cost per job jumps to $250,000 per job (gee, the President himself makes $400,000/year).  When math is applied to the numbers, (which the empire does not want you to do. It is CALCULATOR Abuse, and you know how they feel about abuse don’t you?) the jobs that have been created seem to be cushy government ones with extremely high pay.

But, with government schools, the kids aren’t trained to do the calculations to figure such things out. To make matters worse, if you are doing your calculating on a Texas Instruments calculator and you happen to use the keys in a way they don’t want you to, you may receive a threatening letter from their lawyers. It seems that TI does not want people knowing how to ‘modify’ their calculators to do some serious math. If there are any Tim “the tool man” Taylor types that like to modify their property—-Look Out!

Raising your taxes and exhibiting bad manners too

CONgress critter Lloyd Doggett upstaged the White House and the Senate by jumping in front of everyone with a list of democratic judicial nominations. (although judicial and democratic together are often an oxymoron). So now besides raising your taxes here at home via cap and trade, stimulus packages and FORCED health care, he also wants to tax money that is offshore. Never mind that it is beyond the legal jurisdiction of the United States,  they want taxes, and more taxes. It is not bad enough that the NEW taxes are high enough to chase companies offshore, now they want to tax those that went offshore.

Doggett’s list of nominees differed from those of the Texas Senators. Rather than abide by protocol and the proper mannerly way of doing things, he did it his way.

I raised my kids to have good manners. It is a shame that a parent can not refer to CONgressman Doggett as a role model. His upstaging of others shows ‘bad raisin’ and manners. I recognize that we have bigger problems in Mordor on the Potomac than bad manners, but this is just another example of poor leadership by example. Perhaps all the time he spent as a judge made him think that rules and law do not apply to him.  It is my hopes that the good people of Travis, Hays, Gonzales, Guadalupe Counties raise their children with better manners than their representative displays.

Does Lloyd show and share the values associated with Smithville, Bastrop, La Grange, Gonzales, Columbus, Shiner, Luling and Flatonia, Texas?

In 52 weeks we will be at the polls again. It is not to early to consider ANYONE but Lloyd Doggett for the 25th district.

Hate and Abortion

Over the years, liberals have used the catch phrase, “You can’t legislate morality!” to stifle proposed legislation. Although it was used to avoid many issues, the socialist arm of the democratic party has managed to do their own version of legislating morality with the passage and signing of the “Hate crimes act”. Even though it was passed in an underhanded fashion, they tout its passage as a victory. Conservatives have already began calling it a ‘thought crimes act’.  Although many States had hate crime legislation, this one makes the matter a federal one. When wickedness, perversion, and murder are called wickedness, perversion and murder, they now want to make it a crime.

The act is amazing, with just the signing of the document, the nation has ‘fixed’ these problems with a law. Those passing it think that they have eradicated hate by merely making it against the law. Given that most crimes are driven by hate in the first place, passage of this kind of law will not make it different, even though those passing it can pat themselves on the back and feel good about it.

Rest assured Southrons, that righteousness is still righteousness and wickedness is still wickedness, even though the government protects it, relabels it and puts its stamp of approval on it. The Southern National Congress recently addressed the wickedness known as ‘abortion’ (aka murder) and passed legislation accordingly.

—————————————————-

Petition for a Redress of Grievances:

Abortion
We, the Delegates of the Southern States,
in Congress assembled, make the following findings and affirmations:

An unborn child receives its life, being, and spirit from God; and only God may take that innocent life, lest it be an act of murder.

The Supreme Court of the United States has created from whole cloth the spurious Constitutional “right” to abortion, resulting in the murder of millions of unborn children and the usurpation of the laws of God and the several States.

Consequently, Southerners are compelled to denounce “universal health care reform” as the single most profound change in the relationship between the state and the individual citizen since the founding of the Republic. We further censure the Federal government for its massive debt acquisition which has put not only the health but also the liberty and property of future Southern generations in jeopardy.

The Federal Government has further proposed certain legislation to require persons in the medical profession to participate in the murder of unborn children, in violation of their consciences and the laws of God, and to require all the citizens of the several States to submit to unlawful taxation to encourage, promote, and fund said abortion.

The right of the People to petition the Government for redress of grievances is recognized by the First Amendment to the United States Constitution.

Therefore, we the Delegates to the Second Southern National Congress, petition the Governments of the Fourteen Southern States to:

  • Petition the Federal Government to immediately cease and desist its unlawful mandate of permissive abortion and funding of the murder of unborn children.

  • Petition the Supreme Court to reverse Roe v. Wade and its progeny, recognizing that there is no Constitutional right to murder the unborn; and that only the several States have the power to regulate such matters, consonant with the laws of God.

  • Petition the citizens of the several States to refuse to obey any Federal law and decrees which purport to require the participation in or funding of the murder of the unborn, recognizing the natural precedence of the laws of God over such arbitrary, capricious and tyrannical laws and decrees.

Where are the leaders?

Being in a position of leadership requires that leaders assume responsibility for their actions and policies. When Pickett’s charge failed to achieve its desired purpose, the commanding general, Robert E. Lee assumed responsibility for that action. When finances and other issues were difficult for the Confederate government, President Jefferson Davis assumed responsibility for it. He not only had to assume responsibility for the government, he had the added duty of building it as well.

Think about it. Davis had to develop a postal service, set up foreign relations, conduct a war, deal with a Congress on policy, defend his nation, construct a navy, and maintain economic stability. He also did it without having a Bush or Clinton to blame things on. He did have the genius of Alexander Stephens to assist him, but even with that help, there were many challenges.

Davis, Lee and Stephens were also not ashamed of their Christian faith. The whole Confederate government were not ashamed of that faith either. They did not apologize for their faith or express regrets at offending any one or nation about it either. Today’s politicians are of a different ilk. Today’s bunch takes umbrage at the suggestion that items may be ‘unconstitutional’. The executive branch with its czars views marriage as ‘old-fashioned’ and apologizes to nations for many actions that were not theirs to apologize for. Many of the people holding positions of power are shameful role models. In the latest escapade, they extol the philosophy of Mao Tse Tung and Mother Theresa. Even in their choices of reading material, they show a fragmented view of the future, drawing from alien sources, rather than from Southron traditions. The central planners believe they have all the answers to the situation. The answer is MORE. More spending, more regulation, more taxes, more troops, more aid, more stimulus…

They do not realize that the answer is less. Less government, less spending, less regulation, less troops, lower taxes, less stimulus.

We need men who will take up the mantle of leadership once again.

Where are the jobs?

CONgressman Lloyd Doggett told the people of his district This recovery funding will create jobs, promote future construction in Hays County, and reduce the danger from any future flooding.” (San Marcos April 9, 2009). He also claimed that his support of the Energy Act claiming it would produce more ‘jobs’. On March 11, 2009, he advocated that thestimulus would provide Colorado County more jobs.

Although he has promised more jobs, what do the figures show? The Committee on Ways and Means produced a report showing that in 49 of 50 States, the number of jobs has decreased. In Texas, it has gone from a projection of gaining 269,000 jobs to actually losing 225,300 jobs.

CONgressman Doggett is not alone in his false promises of jobs. Pelosi promised jobs, jobs, jobs. But in 49 of 50 states, that is not what has been delivered. She told the American people that jobs would be lost UNLESS the stimulus went through. It went through and we still lost jobs.

Where are the jobs? If you lost your job in Texas, you may want to contact Pelosi, Doggett or some of the other supporters and ask them about your jobs.

Just wait until they ‘fix’ your health care.

The times of John Knox

The study of history is important, especially during turbulent times, like these. When I consider the times in which men like John Knox lived and the hardships he faced regarding his beliefs, it becomes clear that these times are not all that bad. Whenever he preached, he was putting his own life in danger. The establishment did not want to hear what he had to say, nor how he inspired the people. He spoke directly and pointedly.

God has not sent me to whisper pleasant things in princes’ ears.” -John Knox

He had already done service aboard a slave ship and by then was not afraid of what men might do to him. Even when he was with John Calvin, he stood behind Calvin with a Claymore, ready for what may come at them.  He knew that a man equipped with truth could accomplish a great many things.

A man with God is always in the majority.” - John Knox

Although he was a man of God, what often struck fear into the hearts of kings and queens were his stands on resisting unjust power.

But hereof be assured, that all is not lawful nor just that is statute by civil laws; neither yet is everything sin before God, which ungodly persons allege to be treason.” -John Knox [bear in mind that during his time, the label used to silence the opposition was to label them as ‘treasonous’. In the present day, the term de jour of ‘domestic terrorist’ is often used by the powers that be to silence their critics]

Let a thing here be noted, that the prophet of God sometimes may teach treason against kings, and yet neither he nor such as obey the word, spoken in the Lord’s name by him, offend God.” -John Knox

If their princes exceed their bounds, Madam, it is no doubt that they may be resisted even by power.” - John Knox

It is also of interest that John Knox dealt with the question of usurpers to positions of power.

The case supposed, that a tyrant by conspiracy usurped the royal seat and dignity of a king, and in the same did so establish himself, that he appointed officers, and did what he list for a time; and in this meantime the native king made strait inhibition of all his subjects, that none should adhere to this traitor, neither yet receive any dignity of him; yet, nevertheless, they would honour the same traitor as king, and become his officers in all affairs of the realm: if after the native prince did recover his just honour and possession, should he repute or esteem any man of the traitor’s appointment for a lawful magistrate, or for his friend and true subject? Or should he not rather with one sentence condemn the head with the members? And if he should do so, who is able to accuse him of rigour, much less condemn his sentence of injustice? And dare we deny the same power to God in the like case?” -John Knox

Let us learn from his example and continue.

False Prophets and misrepresentation

It seems that ancient Israel is not the only nation that had problems with false prophets. In the latest blasphemy, the hip-hop mogul, Russell Simmons went so far as to say that “God will destroy us if we don’t listen to Barack”. It is good to see that a someone in hip-hop actually refers to God without additional curse words, yet the theology is wrong.

I also saw that Morris Dees spoke at the University of Texas at Arlington recently. The campus was filled with flyers for the event, with the phrase “Justice for all” emblazoned upon them.  Although the organization “Justice for All” is actually seeking a reform of the justice system and probes its abuses, Dees and the promoters used the phrase for its dog and pony show. The program was touted as part of “diversity awareness” program. Although the phrase “and justice for all” is used, the SPLC has done more to falsely label groups and people as ‘hate groups’ only because they want the borders protected or hold to traditional values. His group has done more to foment ‘hate’ than many realize. The SPLC uses its reports to label people as “Hate groups” without any justice involved at all. That is not ‘justice for all’ but rather hate for all who have diverse opinions from his own.

I wonder if he talked about how he beats women or his serial affairs or other various unsavory actions. (Here are two pages from his divorce proceedings detailing his actions).  I wonder if the University of Texas at Arlington actually considered that they were having a woman beater being extolled as one of their speakers? I suspect that they have not done their homework on his background, choosing instead to use his SPLC credentials as his qualifications to speak.

Health Care Petition

Petition for a Redress of Grievances:

Health Care
We, the Delegates of the Southern States,
in Congress assembled, make the following findings and affirmations:

Health care in America remains the best in the world, and we Americans have been blessed by compassionate, dedicated, and highly skilled medical professionals and practitioners. However, in recent decades, the quality, availability, and especially affordability of medical care have declined, imposing unnecessary expense and suffering on the poor, the elderly, and those living on fixed incomes.

We staunchly believe and assert this decline has not been caused by patients, doctors, and institutions of care entering into free, informed, and responsible choices, as some would suggest. Rather it has been caused by the vast intrusions of government into the country’s health care systems. American medicine has become a massively regulated, subsidized, and centralized industry, resulting in structural distortions, misallocation of scarce resources, and bureaucratic impediments to the delivery of quality care. Therefore, in remonstrating against government-managed health care, we protest not only the proposals to broaden such government intrusions in the future, but also the government’s current policies which have contributed so materially to the crisis.

Government exploits the crisis of high medical cost which it created as a pretext to buy votes and assure incumbency. Its current initiative to nationalize the entire system of United States medical care continues the Regime’s process toward Statist control. This process began in the 1960’s with Medicare, and similar schemes, with the evident purpose of converting the United States into a European-style, democratic-socialist welfare state.

The problem of escalating costs for medical treatment is aggravated by the onerous burden of taxation, by which government robs the average working person of 40 to 60% of their income directly and indirectly, leaving little surplus for such essentials as medical care.

The third party payer system for medical insurance was driven by government intervention in the labor market beginning in WWII with wage controls, perpetuated by the unequal treatment favoring employer-purchased insurance over privately purchased coverage. This scheme has taken the patient/consumer out of the free market for health care and fundamentally altered the physician-patient relationship. It has inserted the insurance company and the legislature into private medical decisions about the best course of care for individual patients.

Through the enactment and operation of employment-based and government-administered medical insurance programs, Americans have been conditioned to believe that medical care is a right and that someone else should be responsible for providing it to them. Having relinquished that responsibility, they now find themselves largely disconnected from the increasing cost of their care.

The Federal government has continually usurped States’ rights by undermining the 10th Amendment to the United States Constitution. It has enslaved our children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren to a life of ruthless taxation to reduce the staggering debt amassed by Federal profligacy. The “official” Federal national debt is 80% of GDP, not including a soon-to-be bankrupt Social Security Trust Fund and Medicare System. Other unsecured liabilities run into the many trillions of dollars.

Yet this same government has the temerity to propose a one-trillion-dollar, cradle-to-grave “universal health care” program. Adding an additional 46 million clients who may not pay for their “universal health care,” but who will most certainly use what is provided at the expense of others, will overwhelm the current health care infrastructure and inevitably result in health care rationing.

Universal health care will add volumes of new government regulations resulting in socialized medicine, undermining individual freedom, and further contributing to making health care unaffordable for the average person.

The Federal government, often with the assistance of State governments, has allowed and encouraged price-fixing, restraint-of-trade barriers, and other monopolistic behaviors by domestic and international corporations, resulting in artificially high costs for patients and exorbitant profits for health insurance and pharmaceutical companies. The lack of tort reform adds unnecessary medical costs as high as one billion dollars a year with no appreciable benefits to patients, only to plaintiff attorneys. The Regime has made no serious attempts to address this problem, which leads to expensive and often unnecessary tests and procedures as doctors are forced to practice defensive medicine to avoid frivolous malpractice lawsuits.

Southerners support medical practice based on the ancient Hippocratic principle of administering the best possible care for each individual patient, with the decisions about that care made by the patient, his family, and his doctor; and exercising the most responsible stewardship of the resources available to each patient, from whatever source. The Constitution of the United States nowhere permits the Federal government to fund or to provide medical care to the general population, directly or indirectly.

Southerners are among the most generous and charitable people in the world, and that trait should be nurtured and encouraged in our culture. We recognize that care for the truly less fortunate among us is our responsibility, consistent with our own consciences and our religions obligations. However, every Southern State must hold fast to the words of David Crockett, the great Tennessean: “We have the right as individuals to give away as much of our own money as we please in charity; but as members of Congress we have no right to appropriate a dollar of the public money.”

Therefore, we the Delegates to the Second Southern National Congress,
petition the Governments of the Fourteen Southern States to:

  • Recognize the inherent right of “We the People” within our sovereign States to nullify Federal encroachments upon our reserved rights and Federal violations of the expressed will of the People within our sovereign States.

  • Abandon the idea of accommodating Federal “universal health care.

  • Reject Federal mandates of health care benefits or protocols to the States.

  • Guarantee and protect the privacy of individual medical records.

  • Enact State laws allowing for Medical Savings Accounts.

  • Enact tort reform to discourage frivolous lawsuits, while preserving the right of the individual to sue for malpractice.

  • Repeal or reject Federal laws criminalizing the purchase of medicines from foreign countries.

  • Recognize individual patients as the key decision-makers in the health care system.

  • Eliminate employer mandates requiring its workforce to purchase health insurance through the employer.

  • Guarantee citizens the unencumbered freedom to select and purchase their own insurance, medical cost-sharing program; or, at their own risk, to purchase none at all.

  • Allow the insurance industry to offer a wide array of medical insurance arrangements with the least possible governmental interference, enabling citizens to choose the coverage that best suits their needs, with no requirement to pay for benefits they neither need nor desire.

  • Require price transparency in the true costs of health insurance plans and the true cost of the medical goods and services they cover.

  • Establish interstate agreements providing continuity in benefits and portability, making it possible for people to compare and purchase health insurance across State lines, and institute policies which encourage the development, release and dissemination of generic drugs as well as allow for the international purchase of medicines.

  • Guarantee individuals the opportunity to change health coverage and protection from cancellation of an insurance policy should individuals become ill or injured.

Setting the stage for flu propaganda

Here’s a crisis in the making. The US and other countries have stopped counting swine flu cases. What is the significance of this you may ask? It is setting the stage for hype and hysteria when they start reporting deaths from swine flu. Since they do not have a baseline count of the number of cases, then when the number of deaths occur, they will falsely claim a large percentage of those who contracted the flu died from it. Without a count, they have no reference point with which to prove or disprove the propaganda.

They will tell you the number of deaths, but will not be able to tell you how many people did NOT die from the swine flu. Kinda convenient for their propaganda isn’t it?

We saw the empire remove the M3 statistic to keep us from knowing how much money was in circulation. Without that number, the empire had a free hand to print and circulate more money. —Bear in mind, the best predictor of future behavior is past behavior.

Absurdity with Nobel

When the Nobel prize was given to Al Gore for his falsified data and hype on climate change I thought that the prize committee had sunk to lower depths of shame than they had when they gave former President Jimmy Carter the prize. At least with Carter there was some some appearance of accomplishment which was not a total subterfuge. Now the dunderheads have shamed themselves to a NEW LOW by awarding the Nobel Peace Prize to Barrack Hussein Obama. It remains to be seen if this is just a move to buoy his image after the embarrassments he has suffered in his inept leadership.

If anything, he has galvanized the American people into wanting a desire to return to Constitutional based government. There is active talk of secession amoung the States. People are talking about leaving the empire! While the conservatives talk about leaving, the left has become more extreme in their worship of him, even stooping to using old Sunday School church hymns for the tunes of their adoration.  He has effectively polarized the people and created a chasm

But….the world rewards its own

Tom Deweese published a column that addressing the globally accepted truths. Obama’s agenda neatly fits in the items ‘truths’ he identified which include:

New Truths for a New Order

Global Warming is globally-acceptable truth.

The United Nations’ Declaration on Human Rights is globally-acceptable truth.

Universal health care is globally-acceptable truth.

Mandatory purchase of a Prius is globally-acceptable truth

The common good over the individual is globally-acceptable truth.

Independent, sovereign nations as a source of war is a globally-acceptable truth.

Global governance for the future peace of man-kind is a globally-acceptable truth.

Global citizenship is a globally-acceptable truth.

Severe reduction of the population is globally-acceptable truth.

I know that for Southrons, ya’ll recognize the list as cow pies and hog swill, but to the one worlders they are the mantras which they believe. The list also made it clear to me why the Chosen One was selected for the Nobel. These are the lies we must contend with. The truths do not leave room for Southrons, which tells me that preserving our culture and values is essential.
