Zoos often have the sign posted, “Don’t feed the monkeys!” They know that once the animals become accustomed to being feed, they will want more. The ‘handouts’ actually train the animals to change their behaviors.

In a similar manner, this sage advice is important for the upcoming census. The regime now wants many people to complete the American Community Survey. The survey is an additional 11-pages of snoopy questions not authorized by the Constitution. Texas Representative Ted Poe is proposing legislation to make its completion voluntary. He claims that the survey amounts to the regime compiling a dossier on many citizens.

The Constitution does authorize a census to be taken, which amounts to taking a head count. The new census is backed by threats of fines for refusing to answer questions and fines for providing false information. Already some of the census drones are claiming the fine for refusing is $5,000. By statute, it is only $100.  Although $100 is significant money to many people, it may be worth paying the fine in order to maintain liberty and to not feed the monkeys.
