Strange Coincidence?

As a teen, I enjoyed listening to the group Emerson, Lake and Palmer. My tastes in music have changed since then, although the message about “The Show that never ends” filled with bizarre and weird scenarios is one of the few ways to make sense out of the events going down in Mordor on the Potomac (aka The Imperial City). The song mentioned strange performance acts, which we now see among some of the Senators.

Senator Debbie Stabenow of Michigan recently called for some type of fairness doctrine to be imposed on talk radio. In an interview she stated,

“I think it’s absolutely time to pass a standard. Now, whether it’s called the Fairness Standard, whether it’s called something else — I absolutely think it’s time to be bringing accountability to the airwaves. I mean, our new president has talked rightly about accountability and transparency. You know, that we all have to step up and be responsible. And, I think in this case, there needs to be some accountability and standards put in place.”

About the same time that she took this position, her husband was allowed to be released after having been caught in a prostitution sting. The woman he paid was instead arrested and must serve jail time.

I find the timing of these incidents extremely coincidental. She takes a strong stand about the time that charges against her husband are dismissed. Hmmmm….Is there more to this story and the politics behind it?

Being a supporter of liberty, I welcome any reigning in of federal power. The answer to our problems is not more federal government intervention, it is less government intervention. We need less government attempting to balance out what is said on talk radio. We need more people talking and taking action! We need people to take the idea of Radio Free Texas and Texas Independence to a new level.

Free Texas!
