Is America a journey or an empire?

Listening to the Presidential candidates from the major parties is always a challenge. Some of the statements  made in the recent debates are very alarming. Some of the concerns from Obama include defining America as a “journey”. This is a departure from the Southron ideal of one’s homeland being a definite place. Obama’s definition clearly shows how some of the major political pundits are doing a quick change of language on the public. Obama’s view that healthcare is a “right” is clearly a violation of the Constituion. If healthcare is a right, who or what gave that right to the subjects of the empire?

Obama’s statement that the military and his proposed youth program are “tools of change” should have sounded the alarms to people. He stated clearly that force will be used to make changes. Such a statement is something that one would expect from Hitler. Just the idea of using the military to “make changes” in America should have people concerned.

It was also important to listen closely to McCain as well. The abuse of power by using government power to step into the area of finance is concerning. Over and over the idea of the empire sticking its nose in the business of other nations was stressed. His ideas suggest the continued expansion of empire. So with the poor choices that have been foisted upon the people, the subjects have to consider “is America is a journey or an empire?”

As a Southron, our sons and daughters are not safe under the leadership of either of the candidates. There was talk of “moral” choices, but the question soon arises of “whose moral system” is being used.
