Despite all the rhetoric about who is to blame for the problems with Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, it is important to look at what happened.
These issues are important in looking at the bailout plan. One of the details of the plan pushed by CONgress is that many of the profits generated from the bailout would be directed to community groups like ACORN. Despite many of the chapters being found guilty of voting irregularities, the leaders in CONgress continue turning a blind eye to the group. They know that “investing”government funds into such groups is like an insurance policy to guarantee re-election. This is important to remember when seeing the news reports about the bailout. Although the wall street bankers are being demonized, groups like ACORN are being given the halo effect at the same time. What is being reported is often not what the truth is.
Here is a video of CONgress critters debating the status of them in 2004. The CONgress critters refused oversight back then, especially concerning GSE’s (Government Sponsored Enterprise). CONgress critters have done much to hide their role in Fannie Mae and Freedie Mac. Have a look-see and make up your own mind.

If these CONgress critters were ethical, they would excuse themselves from votes concerning these matters. By accepting money from Freddie/Fannie, they are no longer neutral. Their loyalties have been purchased.
The McCain campaign is not entirely neutral either. His campaign manager’s firm was paid by Freddie Mac. Freddie Mac/Fannie Mae have made sure that they feathered their companies, much like Enron did. Although people want to say they are concerned for the best of the nation, with the money they accepted, their loyalties are more to the companies than to the peoples of the nations.

On doing some historic research this weekend, I had the opportunity to view some historic documents. In perusing the documents, I recalled that the admonition given in scripture to obey one’s parents applies not only to the immediate generation, but also previous generations. There are many lessons to be learned from the wisdom of previous generations. In the documents I reviewed, some of which were legal, I was surprised at the brevity of many of them. Legal papers were legal based on the way the letter was written, not based on having ‘official letterhead’. The documents were land grants. They were also surprisingly brief. Not a ream of paper that one has to read through. Most were one or two pages. I was also struck by the mannerliness of the personal letters. They were brief, respectful and to the point. We could learn a great deal if our legal documents were to the point and brief. Many of the official papers could be done at the home rather than at the courthouse. Letters were respectful and to the point.
Let us recall the lessons that such tokens remind us of and preserve our Texas culture. It was especially exciting since one of the latters concerned the disposition of David Crockett’s land which he was given for serving the Republic. The Republic did not forget those who rendered service to it, nor should we.

The SPLC is up to their same old tricks. The Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) has been labeled a “hate group” by the SPLC (Southern Poverty Law Center). The action confirmed a statement I made to the Texas Observer that anyone who speaks out against illegal immigration is branded as “hate group” according to the SPLC. Check out FAIR’s website and decide for yourself. On the site is their response to the SPLC. Although the original trouble between FAIR and the SPLC began almost a year ago, it is now in the news again as FAIR continues its lobbying efforts. With the negative characterizations, those CONgress critters who listen to them are conveniently labeled as associating with ‘hate groups’ just in time for the elections.
Such behavior is likely to become more common, as the liberal/socialist media associated with Obama is gearing up their “In Your Face” campaign. This is couples with Senator Joe Biden coupling ‘patriotism’ with paying taxes.Has he forgotten his history? The American colonies were founded on people refusing to pay the exorbitant British taxes. By confusing facts with socialist myth, the people are confused and exploited.

I laughed when I saw the story of how Nancy Pelosi proclaimed that the Democrats bear no responsibility for the present financial crisis. It was a Democratic CONgress that opened the flood gates to immigration under Ted Kennedy. It was a Democratic CONgress that mandated that mortgage loans be made to persons who were not credit worthy and refused allowing States to set limits on such practices. The Deomocratic CONgress, under her leadership approved requests from the tyrant to bail out mortgage lenders. As if that was not bad enough, the Democratic CONgress mandated the empire fund a bail out for student loans as well. So who are you going to believe, the facts of what Peolosi and the Democrats (and Republicans) have done, or what they say?
Take a look at the Community Reinvestment Act, which mandated that banks make loans to those who were a credit risk. CONgress forced them to do it, and CONgress must accept responsibility for such acts.
This is of concern to Southrons. The economic security of our communities is in danger due in large part to policies of the central government and CONgress. The banking and lending system is in shambles under their leadership. Those who believe FDIC will save them are waking up to the fact that the organization is running out of money.
Free Texas from such lunacy!

The Association for Community Reform Now (ACORN) has already begun their dirty tricks. In the State of Michigan, the organization has been found to be submitting fraudulent and duplicate voter registration forms. The organization has been under investigation in Ohio, Colorado, Michigan and Missouri. This same organization is active in Texas as well. This is a concern to Southrons in that they are stealing votes by watering down your voice at the voting booth. People can complain about LBJ’s campaign and the Duke of Duvall when voting discrepancies were present in his campaign. ACORN is going on NOW. It is happening in Texas NOW. Rather than win an election on policy and debate, efforts are made to increase voter strength by many methods. This group presents a threat to the democratic process.

In Houston, the local business owner of Hilton furniture has shown admirable effort in doing something to help the community. He took initiative to bring ice into the area and give it to the people, even when his own home had several feet of water in his home in Seabrook. His actions are an example of personal responsibility. While his efforts are effective in getting ice and water out, local government is promising and promising and people are frustrated with the slow responsiveness in helping victims of the storm (hurricane Ike). Mr. Hilton is another example how the answer is helping others is personal responsibility, rather than depending on others.
