Parallels of history: McCain and Lincoln

In the early days of the Second War of Secession (War of Northern Aggression), the Yankee government of the tyrant Abraham Lincoln quickly took away freedom of the press. His goon squads silenced the papers that wrote articles questioning his war. Keep in mind that he committed American boys to this war WITHOUT the approval of Congress, claiming that he found a clause in the Constitution that allowed him to do that. Although the Lincoln regime talked about freedom and fighting for freedom, the reality was they took away many freedoms quickly, including freedom of the press and freedom of assembly.

In an eerie parallel, many nations are taking steps focused on limiting the freedom of the (press) internet.  Let me remind you that John McCain has labored fervently to limit the freedom of bloggers and the internet. We have yet to see if there are more parallels between John McCain and Lincoln other than both like war, dislike freedom of the press, dislike Christians, cuss like sailors hate the South with its symbols and heritage and are Republicans.
