Author Gary Wills is on another rant. In his latest piece from the Los Angeles Times, he headlines it, “Abortion isn’t a religious issue”. The article is an excerpt from his latest book, “Head and Heart: American Christianities,”. I thought he stooped low when he praised the tyrant Lincoln in his book, “Lincoln at Gettysburg: The Words that Remade America”. Strangely enough, he has recognized that the tyrant is responsible for changing people’s minds about the war and what the war meant. Wills just happens to think that what the tyrant did was good for the nation. After praising the blood-thirsty tyrant that Lincoln was he has moved on to other issues. His latest books addressed issues of “What Paul Meant” and “What Jesus Meant”. He is now changing the meanings of what these early leaders of Christianity said and wrote. Since he spoke so highly of Lincoln, I can only imagine what he has done with the Almighty.

Wills uses St. Thomas Aquinas’s writings to confound the issues. He tries his best to turn the abortion issue into a simple decision of convenience, much like he twisted the Yankee invasion of the South into a choice of convenience as well. He misunderstood the war and deified Lincoln. Now he denigrates God’s word and places human reasoning above the Almighty’s. Wills supported the killing of the war and now supports the killing of the unborn.

The command to preserve life goes back to the old Testament. The principle of saving a life trumps many of the other regulations of Scripture. People can argue about when life begins all they want. The Almighty made it clear in his word that life is precious. The times when life is forfeited is when the consequences for peoples actions necessitate action.

Preserving the South means preserving the lives of Southrons. Sadly, abortion has taken more lives than the war did. Ironically, the very Constitutional amendment used to justify abortion is the 14th amendment. The same amendment that was forced upon the South and Union alike. The 14th amendment was passed in an illegal manner. The Southern states, which were not officially states according to the Congress were forced to approve it. If they were not legally states, how could they legally pass it? Congress usurped the Constitution with the 14th amendment. It is the same 14th amendment that has laid the foundation for many immigration problems the States currently experience. The 14th amendment is constitutionally invalid due to the bill of attainder clause within it which is not legal according to the Constitution itself.

Will’s served as an apologist for the tyrant and his killing. He now serves as an apologist for the abortion industry and the killing it is responsible for. This tiger has not changed its stripes.
