Business over people: A recipie for fascism.

In thinking through the ramifications of Governor Perry’s speech in Mexico City, a realization has occurred. That realization is that in tyrannical regimes, the interests of business or industry always overrides those of the people. When keeping the gears of the machine take priority over the people, a devaluing occurs. This is fascism, pure and simple. The value of human life has little value. This is the outcome of materialism. Materialism is nothing more that the by-product of social atheism. Many of our political leaders in an effort to keep their beliefs out of public policy have instead proceeded on a course of social atheism. This course has led to a very materialistic society. The emphasis is on having a strong economy. Why didn’t Governor Perry talk about values that make a strong state. What is Texas doing to become spiritually strong? What is Texas doing to become morally stronger? Little is being done in these areas by government. Instead, they are seeking the development of industry. With the increase of emphasis on industry, the humanity factor diminishes. Even with the Trans-Texas Corridor, what matters is the speed of commerce through Texas. The politicos don’t care about those pushed out by eminent domain. Land that has been in families for generations will now be owned by the State Spanish companies. This same kind of thinking went on in Hitler’s Germany. Mexico traded with Hitler’s Germany, but to these pragmatic politicos, that does not matter. Principle means nothing to them, they only want results. Quality of life is now defined by material wealth, not in terms of the ‘goodness’ or hospitality of the people of Texas. This same mindset is that of the tyrant in chief who pursues American interests overseas, but does little to protect the quality of life or morality here in Texas. His grandfather traded with Hitler to make a buck, but I guess that does not matter. In the new mindset, character does not matter.

If we are to be a strong nation, we must be a good nation. Our leaders have pursued a soul less agenda and we will have to deal with the fruits of their decisions.

“People will not look forward to posterity, who never look backward to
their ancestors.”–Edmund Burke, British Philosopher, 1729-1797.
