I came across a thought provoking quote in my readings concerning education. The news of late has been filled with the episodes in London and Scotland on the tails of the graduating class of the latest activists. I see the militants as dishonorable and I condemn their actions.
Despite this condemnation, there are things that can be learned from them. These people have passion. They are enthusiastic about what they believe. They fight for what they believe, they die for what they believe. Consider this quote which I came across concerning education.
"The Jew, the Moslem, the follower of Confucious, and of Brahma, each and all are careful to instruct the youth of their people in the tenets of the religions they profess, and are not content until , by direct and reiterated teaching they have been made acquainted with at least the outline of the books which contain according to their beliefs the revealed will of God. Why are Christians so indifferent to such an obvious duty which is obviously recognized by Jew and pagan?"-John B. Minor
Given the emphasis others place on religious education, might we as Christians living in the Empire wake up to the need for Christianity in the education of our children? They need morals, they need knowledge, they need what a Christian education can provide. The government indoctrination centers have managed to create educated pagans, that have few morals and live life largely on their animal instincts. This is not the kind of young people that the nation needs. Part of advancing freedom, is advancing the freedom to educate our youth concerning morals. They need morals and wisdom. They need passion. Imagine a nation filled with passionate youth, who have morals and seek the betterment of the Southern people. There would be not limit to what such a generation could attain.
