My people are destroyed for a lack of knowledge

There are few examples of how a people are destroyed due to their lack of knowledge than Kwanzaa. For a fabricated holiday to make such an impact astounds me. Ann Coulter wrote an article on the phenomena of Kwanzaa.Kwanzaa She nails many of the hypocrisy associated with these event. Part of the wackiness is that the DC government supports it by issuing postage stamps and presidential greetings acknowledging and giving credence to to the myth of Kwanzaa. Scripture warns us of how people would rather believe a lie than follow the truth. Kwanzaa is a blatant reminder of that warning.

Although the administration supports and condones Kwanzaa, they have systematically removed references to the celebration of Jefferson Davis’s birthday. People all over the South celebrated Jefferson Davis’s birthday at one time. The holiday also allowed many people to take an official day off. If there was true representation and justice under our Yankee overlords, then they would let the people decide which holidays they wish to celebrate, rather than force myths on the people. The USPS never issued a stamp commemorating Jeff Davis’s birthday did they?

The passing of President Ford reminds me of the passing of a famous Texian about this time of year. In 1861, at this time of year, the people of Texas were mourning the loss of B. F. Terry. After having been laid in state in Tennessee, and Louisiana, his body was brought to Texas. In Austin, the Senate chambers were draped in black in acknowledgment of the passing of this great Texian. The New Year’s party held at the Capitol was done in black as well. Sadly, unless there is a voice bringing the people to remembrance, they quickly forget the heroes of previous times. One of the things I admire President Ford for was his refusal to acknowledge the Russian takeover of the Baltic States. The nations of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania had long been held under Soviet occupation. His refusal to cave in on the matter gave the people hope, and in less than a decade, they were once again free sovereign peoples. Their struggles as occupied nations shares many parallels with  our own.

The Good Book also talks about the need to choose you this day who you will serve. Part of making choices includes which holidays (holy days) we choose to celebrate.
