In a previous post, I referred to a quote by Lord Acton where he said that he grieved more for what was lost at Appomattox than he rejoiced over what was gained at Waterloo. When one seriously considers what he said, there is a boat load of truth in it. Consider the current moral and political situations that the occupational government has us in.
-1. We are in the midst of a cultural war. In this war, all the cultures and value systems are striving for dominance. In the liberal mindset, all religions are considered equal in authority. Each of these "equal" value systems are now fighting to be the dominant value system in America. This is part of the fruits of positioning oneself as a secular nation. The claims about being "One nation under God" was a ploy began by the Tyrant Lincoln. America rejected Almighty God long ago. It did so when they declared war on civilians, desecrated churches, and wantonly destroyed everything in their paths as part of Sherman and Sheridan’s ‘total war’.
America rejected Almighty God, when Lincoln twisted the words of the founding fathers in the Gettysburg address. In that speech alone, he rejected the authority of the Constitution, of Almighty God and instead put it into the hands of "the people" or rather the mob. Although he says "the people" have authority, he actually meant only select people. The tyrant used all the skill of an ancient Demosthenes, twisting the meaning to what he wished. He told the people what they wanted to hear.
The Yankee politicians rejected Almighty God when they declared the Bible contraband, and thus preventing its distribution in the South. That declaration was a statement of what the Yankee nation believed. The crimes worsened when they threw pastors and ministers of the Gospel in prison, claiming they were the worst of the prisoners taken from the South. Even today, America rejects the Bible. Biblical monuments have been removed in Montgomery and Houston, because they were seen as offensive. When the park guides in Washington refuse to acknowledge the authority of the Ten Commandments on the monuments, what makes you think that they will acknowledge the authority of the Almighty God who wrote the commandments? The Ten Commandments have been removed in several areas, because they violate the separation of church and state (another twisting of the meaning of the words. This time of founder, Thomas Jefferson). When the nation rejects the Bible, is it surprising that the secular culture rejects the Christ child at Christmas? They want the Yankee Santa Clause, but reject the baby Jesus. Is it any wonder why the culture struggles with wishing people Merry Christmas, when the rest of the year the society has rejected the authority of Jesus Christ?
The theologian James Thornwell saw what was truly at stake in the war."The parties in this conflict are not
merely Abolitionists and slaveholders, they are Atheists, Socialists,
Communists, Red Republicans, Jacobins on one side and the friends of order
and regulated freedom on the other. In one word, the world is the
battleground, Christianity and Atheism the Combatants, and the progress of
humanity the stake."
Sadly, the law of man has replaced the law of God as the authority and standard of our actions. Men are now more accountable to the courts than they are to God’s word. I have read His word and know what becomes of nations that refuse to acknowledge his Lordship. The parallels between Post-Christian America and ancient idol worshiping Israel are astounding. The descriptions of what was occurring differs only in the technology of the day and the date on the calender.
When the Judeo-Christian value system was rejected as a standard for behavior, the flood gate opened to do whatever you liked. The phrase "If it feels good, do it" became the catchphrase for a generation of hedonists. The root of all the present cultural war goes back to the War for Southern Independence. America is experiencing the fruit of its labours. It laboured to create a false sense of equality, and now everyone wants claims equal authority in doing what they please. The idea of all men are created equal was originally intended to mean all mean are equal in accountability to the law, NOT that all men have an equal claim to do what they please. The compromising on this phrase alone has led to a moral pluralism not to mention numerous civil rights law suits.
This cultural war is why we now have a Congressman wanting to be sworn in on the Koran. It is why the phrase ‘under God’ is controversial in the pledge. Strangely, removing the phrase is actually being honest, but the American people do not want to honestly face the reality of the culture they have taken upon themselves. Many American politicians and judges have sold the people out (literally, just look at the national debt), and the people do not want to face this truth.
Many Americans have been fooled by the ‘conservatism’ of the Yankees. Thank goodnes men like Robert Dabney saw through their ideas. “It may be inferred again that the present movement for women’s rights
will certainly prevail from the history of its only opponent, Northern
conservatism. This is a party which never conserves anything. Its
history has been that it demurs to each aggression of the progressive
party, and aims to save its credit by a respectable amount of growling,
but always acquiesces at last in the innovation. What was the resisted
novelty of yesterday is to-day one of the accepted priniciples of
conservatism; it is now conservative only in affecting to resist the
next innovation, which will to-morrow be forced upon its timidity, and
will be succeeded by some third revolution to be denounced and adopted
in its turn. American conservatism is merely the shadow that follows
Radicalism as it moves towards perdition….It is worthless because it it
is the conservatism of expediency only, and not of sturdy principle.”

If you think I am alarmist, consider these quotes by President Bill Clinton.
"[the United States] can’t be so fixed on our desire
to preserve the rights of ordinary Americans…"–President William
Jefferson Clinton, March 1, 1993 during a press conference in
Piscataway, NJ source: Boston Globe, 3/2/93, page 3
"You know the one thing that’s wrong with this country? Everyone gets a
chance to have their fair say."–President William Jefferson Clinton
5/29/93
"We can’t be so fixated on our desire to preserve the rights of ordinary Americans…"–President William Jefferson
Clinton, USA TODAY 11 Mar 93
Or, consider this quote from a professor at Harvard (the Yankee educational flagship).
Chester Pierce, a Professor of Educational Psychiatry at Harvard, said,
"Every child in America entering school at the age of five is insane because
he comes to school with certain allegiances toward our Founding Fathers,
toward his parents, toward our elected officials, toward a belief in a
supernatural being, and toward the sovereignty of this nation as a separate
entity. It’s up to you, teachers, to make all these sick children well by
creating the international child of the future."
That my fellow Texians is part of why the war matters.
