The elections of 2006 are now over. As the dust settles, each of us will have to consider what to do and what the results mean. In most of the statewide offices, it will be business ‘as usual’. With the elections over, the politicians can now pursue their policies. In Texas that will likely mean that the Trans-Texas Corridor land seizures are soon to arrive. It is unsettling that the major player in the Corridor is a Spanish company. Near my residence, we have to deal with the largely Chinese-backed Port of Houston construction of the Bayport container facility. The likelihood of foreign companies increasing their presence in Texas will increase, especially as the united States debt grows.
The biggest changes are likely to occur on the national level. The election results reveal the fragmentation of the American nation. This fragmentation of the people in the areas of culture, economics, political and moral areas could hasten the climate where people seek secession. When people are fat and happy, with business going ‘as usual’, they have little desire or motivation to secede from the culture or the system. With the democrats in key positions promoting destructive policies, and the economy poised for meltdown, more people will view secession as an option. It is now even more important to stay informed.
